The holidays are here and we are excited. We took a non-traditional approach with this tablescape. Who said all holiday tablescapes had to be red, green & white?

We used our velvet napkins and supreme sequin tablecloth to achieve this look.

While these tables were beautiful they were empty most of the night….just as they should be. We danced the night away! Our NY raised Caribbean blood plus had us whining and jumping away.

A few people said “This is not an ordinary repast” well my Daddy was no ordinary man😁

My rider made sure this BBQ celebration of life had something for the kids. As soon as they walked in and saw the bounce house it was over. They bounced the night away! Even a few adults got their bounce on.

Everything doesn’t always work out as planned but you have got to keep moving. Take a deep breath, feel your feels, remember who and who’s you are then keep moving.

Chargers didn’t come in on time, napkins weren’t the right color, the chair covers played hide and seek, all of this amongst other hiccups.

Despite all of that, I know my Daddy would have said “You did good baby, this looks amazing. I’m proud of you” What I would give to hear him say he’s proud of me one more time.

Family, ya'll remember when I told ya'll my vendors came through like a breath of fresh air? Let me tell ya'll how these sweets vendors understood the assignment.

Even was on the ready with the toppers! However, with so much going on in such a time short time frame, I dropped the ball 😫 but I'm thankful for the late night emails and communications.

These treats did not disappoint at all, everyone loved them. The kids demolished the pretzels and in a few blinks all of the cupcakes were gone.

I dropped the title of event planner a few years back but for my Daddy I dipped my toe back in that pool. My rider & I designed this celebration while sitting on the floor in corner and simultaneously running the biggest project has been hired to do...thus far (more on that later).

We sat on the floor and ordered decor, (thank goodness for Amazon Prime 🙌🏾), laid out a floor plan, sourced vendors and all. My family came through and made setup a breeze, even my young nephews joined the setup crew.

In the end, a few items came in too late but it was giving just what it was supposed to give.

Ya'll are family so I can be honest. Social media took a backseat at the end of October when unexpectedly my Daddy passed. It went from 0 to 100 in a matter of days. This one hit hard because to know me is to know that I am a true definition of a Daddy's girl.

In planning his celebration of life services, I remembered that my Daddy always said not to have a sad repast. He wanted a BBQ party like we always did for his birthday. Well it was November so we took the BBQ inside.

Thank you to all of the vendors who are now family & forever stuck with me for coming through in the ninth hour without hesitation.

When I sit back & think about where Seven Fourteen Event Services started back in 2014, where it is now and where it will be in 5 years all I can do is smile.

Consistency hasn’t always been key over here, doubt has reared it head more times that I’d like to admit and the idea of throwing in the towel was holding my hand as Iooked at cobwebs where clients should’ve been.

Business isn’t where I’d like it to be but it’s not far away. Moral of the story...Never quit on your dreams!

Let me tell how talented & are! My Mini Session Shoot was so much fun. It was 20 mins of laughter and smiles.

I’d been eyeing signs for ever and hopped on the mini session as soon she shared it. I’d seen the results from the previous sessions and couldn’t risk having fomo. Let me tell that my sign did not disappoint at all!
