Thank you for your time
Camp Carousel - in my mind started years ago after some major setbacks in my life - God uses different things to get our attention- for me He uses animals. They are an outlet - they definitely need care and sharing. I started my life with a little poodle, her name was Sissy. She was here before I was, my mother had her since a little pup - as an infant, she defended me from the Sears repair man that had come to our house to fix an appliance - she would not allow him in the room with me at all - literally snarling to keep him back - of course, this was told to me much later in life, but Sissy lived for some 15 odd years and - needless to say she taught me how to love, care, respect, responsibility, and the need to be needed. She was extremely loyal and obedient. I knew, at that point in my life I would never be without a four legged friend - well, dogs then cats but then needed to be a bit more adventurous so a little pony by the time I was 2 then a monkey by age of 6 came into my life followed by a skunk and a parrot, you see I was an only child so I had an agreement with my parents - I could have anything with the exception of a snake or a spider. So being in show business, McNair Amusements, this all kind of fit the bill- I could have my passion, animals, and I could share with others. Life was full and life was fun!
As I look back - I now realize that God was grooming me then - for what was to come-
You see we had a plane crash to catch us all off guard - most of my family were in that plane and I was actually supposed to be in it as well- I have lived with the guilt of not being the extra pilot on board for now on 29 years ...
If it hadn’t been for animals to get me up and out of bed - I think I would have grieved myself to death - but I had an obligation to them to feed and water and cleanup behind and - basically to busy myself! Yes, I had a business to run - but it could be put on hold for a while as my dad could handle things if I weren’t right there - but my animals could not survive with no supervision.
So, today I use the excuse to add to my collection.
And, I just hope that just maybe I can touch one life - to show them that animals come from the man upstairs, God, and he uses these beautiful creatures to teach us life lessons. I love the Lord, He is my rock and my salvation. I know my family is with Him, and between now and the time I get to go home, heaven, I want to show the world what God can do. I am a member of New Testament Baptist Church, and I believe this Church to teach from the Bible, KJV, the word of God. Our lessons are simple, each meeting. Our preacher, I believe to be a man used by God to spread the word. He is polished with his dress as well as his vocabulary and actions to be a great representative. He is humble and a great listener - the church is one that I call family- the people are real and not judgmental.
Life is full of ups and downs. We as humans create abit of our own fallacies- we put ourselves in situations that are not the best - some of our choices are not well thought out. I just want to have a Camp or a place where the outside world can be forgotten for a bit and get back to nature - after all it was here before man - a place where we can forget our everyday problems and be with our kids and let nature show off -learn the values of life.
Currently, I do birthday parties and VBS, at quite a few different churches, we are a part of Monroe’s, The Animals and The Kingdom - event. We are here for all to enjoy - our parties consist of no alcoholic beverages and promote goodwill and happiness.
I definitely have obstacles, I need volunteers to help complete this project - I need materials, I need folks that just want to give back or maybe I should say pay it forward- life is short and wouldn’t it be nice to leave your mark so that a child could experience something besides virtual - computers are great - but what about the basics? I have the land - I have over 300 animals - I just need help developing- I have reached the stagnation point - I can sustain but am having trouble making progress - if this is something of interest to you, our reader- then maybe you too can help to make a difference in the life of a child...
Donations are GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
