From Herd flock team: “Where to begin y’all! What a weekend our 5th Herd Flock was, Mud Flock as it’s been so rightly renamed. This weekend was an absolute success and we loved seeing all the wonderful returning and new smiling faces enjoying the epic line up of incredible talent!

The weather could have been a real bummer, but everyone pulled themselves up by the bootstraps and made the best of it! Over the course of the weekend we had just shy of 300 people attend! The incredible outpouring of support this event had, gave us our biggest donation collection thus far! This year Herd Flock is able to donate $1800! We are absolutely floored and our hearts are full! The donation money is on its way to the Richmond, ME High School Music Program!

The Herd Flock team is so incredibly thankful and appreciative to all our family and friends for their time and help. From the early days, and ongoing days of land clearing and lawn mowing, road repairs, and stage building. The help and support continued though the whole weekend. Running the tractor with the trailer. Helping load and unload bands, parking and traffic control. This event would not have been possible without all the hard work that was put in by so many!

A huge thank you to the Lilly family again for letting us come together on their land to gather and bang our heads! Stage V for again stacking another successful weekend of amazing musical talent. Coordinating all the bands and running the behind the scenes and making sure it was the smoothest show to date! Barracuda for running the best sound and lights possible all weekend long! Completely crushing it and giving all those bands a killer sounding set! C.V. Builders for our absolutely beautiful new stage!

Thank you to each and every band who came out and gave us their all and put on a fantastic show! Thank you to all of the amazing people who came out and showed their support! Without all of you there would be no event!

While we are sad the weekend has come and gone, it’s not goodbye. We will see you next summer…Herd Flock 6! Stay tuned later this year for more details to come! 🤘🏻”

Okay here’s my incredibly long thank you’s and post about Herd Flock V. First thank you to Pete for giving us a place to do this shows five years running. The work that goes into getting that land ready for the fest is insane. This year it was even more work with the rain. We did everything we could to get the grounds ready. It still rained heavily Friday night and basically wrecked the ground for weeks to come. We woke up each morning to spread wood chips on the viewing area to give people a place to watch the bands up close before the shows started. Definitely not enough wood chips in the world for what we were dealing with, a complete wash out. Thanks Pete. Thanks to Dwan for doing the insane job most of the weekend of loading gear and bands and people down to the concert area from the field, in the rain Friday and the crazy mud Saturday. Thank you to all the HF staff, Ashley, Kayla, Megan, show, Brandon and Al for tirelessly working before and on the days of the fest. Big thanks to Chris Leighton for bringing the drums and load in space for all the bands. Also being the greatest stage hand I have ever worked with. I really just asked for the drums and drum stuff but he did a million miles more and I am so happy to have him as a friend. Next big shout out to Barracuda sound productions for flawlessly running 27 bands of all different genres sound and lights in a span of like 24 hours. You are a legend man. Glad you had fun and see you next year. If you need sound for your show, this guy is on wheels and can do it any where really really well. Thanks to Corey for building the beautiful stage. Thank you to David Peterson for helping us set up and brining his huge tent which was one of the other saving graces of the weekend. Thank you to all the bands who played Friday in the rain! Everyone showed up and played amazing. I was checking my phone every hour on Friday waiting for cancelations. I would not have blamed any of you that weather was crazy. I do think it added to the atmosphere the vibes were strong and probably the most memorable Friday night of any herd flock. I had a realization Friday night after the show that those bands that played are some of the hardest working ones around and everyone really wanted to play. I admire you all for that! Saturdays bands had even more of a curve ball as we couldn’t have any traffic down to the festival area thus all bands were loading in via tractor and trailer. This was insane we have never had to do this for any flock and I hope we never have to again but after Friday we were definitely not going to cancel. Huge props to all the bands Saturday all stayed cool and professional in the chaos. Seriously you bands both days are the real MVPS. So many memorable sets all weekend you guys killed it. Hoping next year is dry flock not mud flock. Thank you to the mighty Lennyvison seriously huge thanks for capturing the fest man. I love you. Chris Kates and Michael Cox for the great photos. Last but not least all of you that came out! What an amazing memorable experience! Hanging out with everyone is a great time and I loved talking to all of you was a treat. This herd flock had the most obstacles of any flock. We made it happen thanks to all of you. Much love and we will see you next year. Thank you.
