Mainely Handmade is a specialty gift shop located next to Thatcher’s Restaurant and Pub, exclusively featuring handmade goods made by Maine artisans, from bath products to freeze-dried candy, apparel, candles, home decor and much more. When you make a purchase from Mainely handmade, your money never leaves our local economy and instead goes directly to the artists, makers and artisans in our community.
Mainely Handmade got their start on Center Street, but has been in the Auburn Mall since October 2021 And is the host of the Mall’s regular Maker’s Markets- Mainely Handmade has SIX markets on the schedule for 2024 (compared to 4 in 2023), and are a driving force in the development of the artisan community in L/A. Mainely Handmade is open Wednesday-Saturday 10a-6p and Sunday 11a-5p
What an amazing response!!! Today, all day, free playgym for all those kiddos that are bouncing off the wall. Also, free cocoa for the kids and free coffee for the adults. No power? Come warm up and enjoy a hot beverage on us while the kids play.
No one likes being without power, including us. Thankfully Family Time does have power. We are open Wednesday 12-7 and will be offering free playgym for the kiddos that probably have been clawing at the walls for the last couple days. We will also have hot cocoa available for the kids at no cost and free hot coffee for the parents. If you can come we love to see you, but always safety first.
Last day to pick up a unique handmade item for that someone special. Visit R Card Place for some mystery boxes, Nerdcore for that something weird, Crystal Incantations for some mystical gems and of course visit Santa at center court. Maybe even get a photo with Santa for a Christmas memory.

Lisa Marshall, proprietor, is a friendly authority on all things crystal & stone, with regular guest readers in the arts of Tarot, Runes, Scrying and more featured in Crystal Incantation’s new reading space.

The second small business in the mall we would like to feature is R Card Place.
R Card Place may be the newest addition to the Mall small business community, opening in July 2023, but the owners are familiar faces. Owned by Dan & Kathy Rogers (formerly of Collectables Forever), R Card Place is a boutique collectibles shop specializing in Collectible Card Games such as Magic: The Gathering, Yugioh! , and pokemon among others, as well as comic books, sports cards, diecast cars and unique collectibles you’ll find nowhere else.
One customer said, “I always check R Card Place first- They have new releases from Magic available before (the big-box stores) and their single selection is amazing,” And we have to agree. Be sure to stop in Wednesday-Saturday from 11a-7p, Sunday 11a-5p to see the friendly faces at R Card Place.

Nerdcore is a locally owned and owner-operated vinyl record store, tabletop gaming emporium and artisan space located at Center Court. It is owned by Rebecca Emmons, a certified audiophile, table-top gaming enthusiast and Maine Native. Rebecca has personally been weird since at least 1989, and is proud to be able to offer the weirdest store in the mall, opening their doors in March 2023.
Nerdcore offers jewelry, tabletop gaming supplies, Polyhedral Dice, taxidermy, oddities, personal accessories and more, and features the work of more than 60 local artists, authors and artisans as well as more than 2,500 vinyl records spanning more than 8 decades, all crammed into 700 square feet. Nerdcore also hosts the semi-annual Weird Fair at the Mall.

At last night's meeting, Auburn City Council declared this upcoming Saturday, December 9, as Auburn Small Business Saturday. Small businesses are the backbone of Maine and Auburn's economy. The City of Auburn is grateful for our small business community and we encourage residents to make a special effort to support small businesses this Saturday (and all year long)!
