Needing some last minute goodies to add to your Thanksgiving table? How about a spice or carrot cake drizzled with cream cheese frosting and salted caramel? Soft oatmeal cookie acorns? Mother Nature told me it's time to switch gears. Me and the grandkids picked what we could reach and now it's time to make applesauce, apple chutney, apple pies, apple butter, apple fritter bread, apple cinnamon slow cooked pork, apple jelly, caramel apples, apple cider, apple brown betties, fried apples with sausage for breakfast this weekend and I think I'll still have some left!!!

Peaches, it's that time of the year. Easy, low sugar and luxuriously delicious! I made a chicken wrap with peach butter instead of mayo, it's awesome!!

Cleaned the garden yesterday, goodbye lovely basil!! You did your job from May to August, cashew pesto, pizzas, flatbreads, caprese salads, dried for winter use. I'll see you next spring!!

I went to visit an old friend who took a fall at home and broke a few vital back bones!! She was moved to a rehab facility to undergo physical therapy and get back home. I made some goodies to take to her and in true fashion, she shared them with all her new friends in the dining hall!! Shout out to Presbyterian Manor for all the great staff taking care of our most treasured elders!!

We hosted the annual party for SmorgasChorus on Saturday evening and it was a blast! After the rain subsided, it turned out to be a beautiful evening with good food, great people and I even got my own private concert!! You guys rock!

Commercial property is sooo expensive, so the thought of doing that at my age was out of the question. We ended up having a metal building constructed on our property and my talented husband finished the interior. Tada!! Half commercial kitchen/half pool house, storage and bathroom. It takes my breath away every time I open the door. My happy place that looks out over my garden and a tranquil place to listen to salsa music without bothering the hubby, cook, bake and create!!! Here are a few pics of my dream come true!!
