🌸 Today is a New Day 🌸

Last week at Beyond the Bloom got off to a bit of a rocky start—no Internet for two days, solar panels being installed on the property, and an unexpected encounter with a rude customer. But today, I’m choosing to focus on gratitude for a fresh start to the week.

With dry weather in the forecast, we’re rolling up our sleeves to get bulbs in the ground, clean up flowerbeds, and move our seedlings into the hoop houses. Taking it one step at a time reminds us that small efforts each day add up to big accomplishments for the season.

This morning, we were graced with our first light frost as temperatures dipped late last night and early this morning. It’s a bittersweet time on the farm when I know the flowers will soon be gone, and there is much work to be done—cutting back, digging up, and preparing for the winter ahead.

But after all the work comes a time for rest. 🌿 Rest for myself and for the flowers as I begin to dream about how next season will unfold.

I never know exactly what the next season will bring, but one thing is for sure—there will definitely be flowers. 🌸💭

As fall settles in and the cooler temps arrive, things on the farm are slowing down. While the dahlias and zinnias are still giving us beautiful blooms, it won’t be long before we cut them back and dig up the tubers to divide and store for next spring. I’m excited to bring back more of the varieties I love and introduce some new ones next season.
