Group photos don't have to be the part of your wedding day that everyone dreads 📸

Here's my planner PSA: the key to smooth group photos isn't just having a good photographer (though that helps!) - it's having a PLAN.

Before your wedding day, sit down and make your list. I'm talking specifics: "Mom's side immediate family," "College roommates," "Dad's golf buddies" - not just "family photos."

Then here's the game changer: assign a point person for each group. Aunt Sarah knows exactly who needs to be in the extended family shot. Your maid of honor can wrangle the bridesmaids. Your best man handles the groomsmen chaos.

Why does this work? Because your photographer shouldn't have to play "guess who belongs where" and YOU shouldn't be the one hunting down Great Uncle Bob during your own wedding.

Pro tip: Do family photos right after the ceremony when everyone's already dressed and present. Save the fun friend groups for cocktail hour when people are more relaxed (and maybe have a drink in them 😉).

The result? Group photos that take 20 minutes instead of an hour, and guests who actually enjoyed the process, too! Trust me, your future self will thank you when you're sipping champagne instead of chasing down relatives.

I fear I have not talked about this day and the overall design of it enough. I just adore it all, definitely a design favorite!

The Grand Lady was everything Audra and Jason had dreamed of and more. Their greenery-centric design and all the perfect little details and special nods to their personalities made the whole day feel so special.

There are few things I love more than a well-designed tent 🤍

Sometimes they're necessary, i.e, a plan B for weather conditions... but it’s also the quickest route to transforming open air into “wow.” And much like other design rules, which seem counterintuitive, a tent actually makes a space look larger.

Have you ever walked into a tent and thought, "wait... did this space just grow? This is larger than I thought." That’s design trickery at its finest. Here's why: The peaked roof pulls your eye up, the translucent panels pull daylight in, and the open walls frame the horizon instead of cutting it off.
