Just a little psa regarding my work and how I run my business:
So I just want to talk a little bit about how I personally approach a party. Each and every client, customer, event, what have you, is different and special. I try to do my best to take my time and assess a situation and act appropriately based on the needs of each and every individual party I do. Some parties take more time than others, some parties need to move more quickly, some kids are nervous and need some comfort, some kids are very hyper/outgoing and need a little bit more patience (maybe a distraction or two! Lol) at some parties kids can pick anything at all, sometimes you have to have a small menu to stay on track. I don't have one specific way of doing things because that just does not work, in my experience. I'm always open to hearing my client's ideas and if they will work I will make those accomodations. I don't want any of my clients feeling like they or their party has to fit into a box, I try to be as flexible as possible to make it a fun, memorable experience for everyone involved.
Now, that being said, if there's one thing I've learned in this life, it's that no amount of planning will prepare you for when things get going and don't go exactly according to plan the day of, and at that point you have two options. You can panic and break or you can move to plan B, make the most out of the situation and give it your best. I'm a plan B type of person and that's why I love art, there's always some way to adjust what you're doing/what you've done, keep going and make it amazing. I'm a good artist and every day I get a little greater, but what matters most is that I'm a committed artist. I will not quit.
Sharing your work with the world can be a scary thing. It can scare people off. But it can also be so cathartic. Every time I put my art out there I'm releasing my worries, my hopes, my dreams, my anxiety, my heart. It makes you feel really vulnerable to put art out into the world, people immediately judge what you create, sometimes before it's even completed.
But it needs to be done. Regardless of the harsh judgement, regardless of your professional status, even if it feels like you can't do it. Keep persisting, keep going, have that plan B ready to go for any situation and you'll be amazed what you can accomplish.
