I bet my newbies thought music was all you needed on your hard drive huh 🤔

Here’s 3 things you MUST keep on your hard drive:

1. Software Folder - You want your software setup the way you like it every time. In our case, Serato will create a folder on every drive you get music from. This folder is your library, crates, preferences, etc. When backing up or organizing, always make sure you have that software folder.

2. Drivers/Firmware for common dj rigs - There will come a time where you’ll have to play on different setups. Save time and stress by collecting new firmware for the common setups in your area. (I.E. Pioneer DDJ drivers, Pioneer CDJ drivers, Rane Mixer drivers)

3. Full Length Dj Sets - Having a few Recorded sets are beneficial for several reason, but I promise you reason #1 is the potty break 😅 When ya gotta go, these save your life. Also great for troubleshooting without silence at a gig and setup time/sound check.

4. BONUS - Add a text file with your info on it. If it’s lost, you MAY get it returned. Heavy on the May, 😮‍💨 those drives are gold 😅

Back in the day, djs had to know every song, beginning to end. Why? Because there were no cue points, sync buttons, or laptops 😮‍💨 It was you and those Vinyl records so you’d better know how they go (the b sides too 😅)

Even though we now have all of the above, we can’t be no sucka djs! Knowing your music in and out is the only way to ensure every dj set is a vibe 😎

Repeat after me: I WILL KNOW MY LIBRARY
