Jeremy “Elation” Olsen is a Baltimore-born DJ, occasional producer and community organizer known for his long-running presence in the Baltimore underground dance and breakbeat scenes. A founding member and the “Main Root” of the Family Tree Collective, Elation has performed locally and beyond, produced mixes and tracks, curated events and mentored other DJs.

The Family Tree Collective traces its origin back to the early 1990s when Elation began sowing the seeds of a community-oriented network of DJs, producers and creatives in Baltimore’s underground dance music scene. Over the following decades he has been an active DJ, member of projects such as half of the production duo “Family Funk Project,” and organizer of Family Tree events. Elation’s track and mix outputs appear on platforms such as SoundCloud and YouTube; his recent mixes include tech-house and breakbeat shows and he remains active in streaming, where he’s found a second home with Byte Me Music and a bi-weekly Breakbeat show called “Breakin Saturday.”
