OM: Pretend Weekly Showcase and Open Mic

"Overlea Open Mic" is an open mic started in the Overlea area of Baltimore MD. The vibe is always light-hearted and encouraging.

We have changed venues a few times and are currently hosting it at the Emerald Tavern in Parkville, Wednesdays at 8pm Pretend Industries is an independent booking agency and record label out of Baltimore Maryland. Besides putting out some of the area's most creative music and eclectic shows, we also host our open mic to give everyone in the local music community a venue to showcase their act, as w

ell as have fun and practice. It was started a few blocks up the road from the current location. Supporting genres and acts of all kinds, we've had jazz cats to blues guys, hiphop to metal, bluegrass and country. We've had comedians, dancers, even touring bands from Florida to California have stopped in to perform and jam.

Yesterday at Sheffield recording guitar and vocals, then did the Bag gig after.. It was a wild week and I’m ready to keep it going! Tonight is the Open Mic at Emerald Tavern. Last week was awesome. Everyone that played had a great set and we had a blast.
