As we hit mid summer in beautiful Bar Harbor, a big shout out and thank you for all of the support Ria's is getting in our 2nd season!
Opening a new business during this Covid era has brought some really big challenges. Challenges I never really saw coming! (Live and learn, right!?) Supply issues, lack of available staffing, and cost of goods are the biggies that stand out.
My business model was always to have a small breakfast/lunch takeaway. A lovely shop, with smiling, kind, and efficient workers to serve our patrons. And to provide various deli items, delicious baked goods, and cold and hot drinks. But, most importantly...PREPARED MEALS TO GO. Delicious and homecooked meals for the convenience of locals and visitors.
I thank all the people who drop by and "give us a try". And some special customers, who have become friends along our journey, so far. They return daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. And, we are so grateful to them!
Sadly, there are times we fall short on our goals. Limited staffing means limited hours and days we can be open. It also affects the quantities and selections that we are able to produce.
With only 3 people, it can be tough to keep up with the demand during these busy months. But, as we try perfect our routine, please know we will continue to work hard to improve our availability and offerings.
Currently, we are open Monday though Friday 11 am to 5 pm. Occasionally, we must close early for private catering events.

Finally, I would like to thank my employees, Kaya and James, for their hard work and efforts to help my small business succeed. They talk me through the storms when my mind is racing. For them, I am also grateful.
