TALK ABOUT A BLUE RIBBON DAY!!!! Our final day of this summer's Back to the Garden program this past Saturday was a Double Header and it was the most beautiful capper to a wonderful summer!

Our Second Annual Kitty Rescue day with our friends from C Alley Cats of Lake Wallenpaupack was a great success - we found forever homes for two kittens (check out the Nancy, our market manager, with her new pal Valiant!) and have a few applications pending, and thanks to you generosity the donation jar was filled so that our friends the Cat Ladies can take care of more kittens, keeping them safe and healthy while they look for new homes. SPECIAL THANKS to LILY BEAR TREATS for very generously donating some of the days proceeds to C Alley cats!!!

Thanks to John Conway and Ft Delaware for kicking things off, and all of our friends who came down and made arts and crafts and good vibes with us: the Sunshine Hall Free Library, the Forestburgh Playhouse, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Rebecca DeRosa, Jessie Lazar from Sullivan Public, Laura Chávez Silverman from The Outside Institute, and of course, the amazing Krystal Grow of Greyscale Darkroom whose sun prints and amazing banner were the highlights of an amazing summer!

Also thanks to all the incredibly hard working volunteers at Barryville Farmers' Market, Karen at Country Road Bakery for keeping us in lemonade, Pastor Dave and our friends at the Barryville United Methodist Church, but especially all of YOU who have made our Farmers' Market such a joyful place to gather and celebrate our local farmers, our community, and the joys of rural, small town living!!!! THIS SATURDAY - ENJOY AN UPLIFTING AND RELAXING SESSION OF CHAIR YOGA IN THE GARDEN!!! EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!!

Bring yourself into balance with chair yoga, an accessible class suitable for beginners, seniors, and anyone who prefers a gentle practice. Explore seated and standing poses to improve mobility, relieve tension, and reduce stiffness, all while using a chair for support.

Instructor Rebecca DeRosa studied Accessible Yoga with Jivana Heyman at Integral Yoga, NYC, and trained in multiple styles of yoga in Dharamsala, India. She teaches frequently in our area, and we think she is tops! 🧘🏻‍♀️ ❤️

WOWEE ZOWEE ANOTHER BLUE RIBBON DAY IN THE GARDEN!!! The amazing Krystal Grow from Greyscale Darkroom helped dozens of kids (and a few grown-ups!) make super cool cyano-type sun prints last weekend at the Barryville Farmers' Market!!

We're doing cool stuff for kids every Saturday this summer - coming up this weekend the Forestburgh Playhouse will be doing Theater Games for Kids... stay tuned and watch for Krystal to come back with the COOLEST GROUP ART PROJECT EVER!!!

WOW WHATTA DAY IN THE GARDEN! Our friend Kate from the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts came and helped a crowd of kids almost as big as the actual Woodstock concert make peace catchers! No kidding, we made 100 peace catchers, and (including parents) saw many more happy faces!!!

Who better than to get things rolling than our much-loved Sullivan County Historian and neighbor, John Conway of Fort Delaware, who will be speaking about The Declaration of Independence in the Upper Delaware! This presentation is for kids of all ages!!! Come, learn about the history of our revolution from a master storyteller and historian!!!

The Farmer's Market will be buzzing with the Halloween spirit, but make sure to visit the HAUNTED GARDEN for a free, super cool Pinhole Portrait, some spooky music, and many surprises!!!! Bring the kids, bring the family, you might even meet the ghoul of your dreams!!!!!

A BIG FINISH TO A GREAT SUMMER IN THE GARDEN!!!

This is Dylan and her brother Dusty, four-month old tuxedo kittens that went home from Barryville Farmers' Market with Amy and David Skuse from PA, who also raise goats - but D&D are going to be house cats ❤️

Along with our friends at Johnson's Animal Sanctuary and our neighbor in Yulan, the great Dr. Ted Weiner, DVM, of the Gotham Animal Clinic, we found homes for these kitties and a dog (or two!)

This the final event of our first year of BACK TO THE GARDEN events, and we could not be happier ending on this beautiful note. Get ready for next year... but first, are you ready for the HAUNTED GARDEN??? Halloween is coming soon, stay tuned!

ATTENTION ANIMAL LOVERS! 🐶

This Saturday at the Barryville Farmers' Market will be a blue ribbon day for cats and dogs and all of our furry friends!

In the Garden at 11am, we have a presentation and Q&A with the great Dr. Ted Weiner of Gotham Animal Clinic (and longtime resident of the Town of Highland), on Keeping Your Cats and Dogs Safe in the Country!

Ted is an incredibly thoughtful vet and animal lover - please bring him any question you have!

PLUS - Johnsons Sanctuary for Senior Dogs will be at the market with wonderful, older friends who need new homes!

Why is this near and dear to our hearts?

Large breed senior dogs are among the last to be picked at a shelter. It’s time for the senior dogs to get some love and a shot at a loving home to live out their golden years. Come meet these awesome dogs, get you questions answered, and spread the love! Save a dog, save the planet!

This is our final Back to the Garden event of the summer - and thanks to you it has been a great success... we love you all!!

AND THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE CATKSILLS

This week, another blockbuster presentation in the Garden Barryville Farmers' Market! This Saturday, August 6, 11 am, FREE!!!

Presented by Anie Stanley of Smokey Belles, Catskills, a queer-friendly artist and writer retreat homestead on the Ten Mile River.

This is a MUST for anyone who lives in the Catskills, but especially city folk who escaped the urban bubble seeking inspiration.

Anie is the Founder & Captain of Smokey Belles Catskills Art Retreat & Homestead in Narrowsburg, and an internationally known artist, as well as a recent DVAA grant recipient for her writing. We are thrilled to have her in the Garden!
