We are excited to announce our first annual on farm plant sale this weekend, Saturday, May 11th.

We will be offering a wide variety of vegetable plants including tomatoes, peppers and lettuce. Herbs include basil, chamomile and oregano. Flowers include daisies, shasta and gerbera.

The majority of our vegetable and herb varieties do well in pots so whether you live in an apartment or have a large garden, we have something for you.

Now that the weather has warmed up, it's time to get the garden planted. We hope to see you this weekend to help you fill it with locally and organically grown vegetables, herbs and flowers.

Sunday vibes! Spring is here and all around the farm are signs of new life. I love this time of year. For me it's a time for new beginnings, a fresh start, a clean slate if you will. This robin's nest is one of the many reminders of all of the possibilities ahead.

I'm often asked what is my favorite flower. My answer would vary based on the day of the week. Now I just answer "ones with petals." 😍

We don't grow traditional dahlias, but I love them and have mad respect for those who do. In my opinion, they are the most high-maintenance and labor-intensive flower to grow. What dahlias we do grow, we start from seed each year, are smaller versions of the larger varieties and we have no control over the color variations or petal count of our blooms. We treat them as annuals on the farm, and in some ways, it's kind of fun to be surprised with the wide range of colors within each color palette that we grow.

This beauty was a variety that Summer Dreams Farm grows and had the pleasure to appreciate during a farm to table event I attended in 2022, in Michigan with my sisters. If you ever get the chance to attend one of their events, you will not be disappointed. They have growing dahlias down to an artform.

So, to all of you dahlia growers out there Curly Girl Flower Farm Westwind Flower Farm CC’s Blooms Queen City Flowers and all of the others who choose to grow dahlia's, much love and respect for what you do, you are my heroes.
