One of my favorite parts of flower preservation is hearing why your flowers mean so much to you and why you want to save them forever. I find myself thinking about the story from time to time as I work on the piece. The flowers preserved for this keepsake set were sent to the client by a loved one who was deployed - how sweet is that!? It took me about a year of practice to get the result I was looking for, and even 3 years in, I’m still learning. I know you can do it, but my advice would be to practice a LOT of non-sentimental flowers first. The contrast of feminine and masculine intersect here in a way that just feels right in my soul. I left (postponed? 🤔) a career where I perfected skills like backing up boat trailers, driving 52’ boats, catching sharks and doing surgery on fish. And now I am surrounded by flowers, making beautiful things. These knives represent how I feel inside.
