It's that time of year again. Colorado peaches and pears are on sale now. This year a 20 lb. box of peaches is $45.00 and a box of pears has been reduced from 36 down to 20 lbs. for $30.00. Orders need to be made no later than July 19th this year for delivery in mid-August.

Save the date - Sunday, May 2nd. The annual Battle Creek Lions Club pancake and sausage feed is back. Serving will be from 9:30 am until 1:00 pm. We will be serving in the Community Clubhouse in the city park. This year we will have a take out option. Pickup will be from the east door on the clubhouse. Hope to see everyone there. We will accept free will donations for the meal.

Remember to register your children for the Battle Creek Lions Club Easter Egg hunt to be held on Saturday, March 27th. Any child age 1 day to 12 years is eligible. The Lions club will need your address to deliver pre-filled plastic eggs to. Due to limited supplies, we need to limit this to families in the Battle Creek School District area. The Battle Creek Lions Club will be conducting a modified Easter egg hunt this year. The date will be Saturday, March 27, 2021. Due to the restrictions and recommendations in place, it will be different than usual. We will take reservations / registrations via phone or text for delivery of pre-filled, plastic eggs for you to hide for your children. Each child will be allotted 8 eggs. Reservations will be limited to the first 200 children. Registration deadline is Saturday, March 20, 2021. The numbers to call or text are 402-649-3662 or 402-649-3661. We will need your name, phone number, address, and number of children that you want to register. If you are able a free will donation towards expenses would be appreciated.

The Battle Creek Lions Club will be sponsoring the Santa Claus visit to Battle Creek along with the City Library. To accommodate the Public Health Department guidelines and suggestions concerning COVID - 19, we ask that you sign up for a visitation time. The hours are noon to 2:00 pm and Santa Claus will be waiting at the Community Clubhouse in the city park on Saturday, December 19th. The Battle Creek Lions Club would like to thank all of our customers that purchased peaches and pears this year. The money raised stays in the community to support our projects like the Easter egg hunt and the visit by Santa Claus, the Christmas gifts for area families that would not otherwise celebrate Christmas, and of course the food pantry. It is with heavy heart that I must inform you that the Easter Egg Hunt that had been scheduled for Saturday, April 4th has been cancelled. Due to recommendations from health agencies and mandates from our Governor, we cannot safely host the event.

With regret the Battle Creek Lions Club has made the decision to cancel the annual pancake feed. We want everyone to stay healthy and safe. We hope to be able to continue our normal activities next month with God's help and blessings.

It's that time of year again. Peaches and pears are on sale now. A lug (20 lbs.) of peaches are $40.00 and a lug of pears (40 lbs) are also $40.00. You may order a whole or a half lug of either fruit. Delivery will be mid to late August. Place your order between now and July 28th. Well, just when you think all is good in your world, we have to make some changes to the annual pancake feed and Easter egg hunt. The city officials have closed the park completely until further notice. That means that our Easter egg hunt will take place at the Community Pride Care Center. The pancake feed will be held at the St. Patrick's Parish Hall. No change in times for either event. Please share this with all of your friends.
