As the vibrant colors of autumn deepen and All Hallow’s Eve and Samhain have passed, November invites us into a season of introspection and gratitude. The energy of this time asks us to turn inward, honor the gifts of the past year, and prepare for the inner work of winter.

At The Vortex, we’ve crafted a lineup of events and new offerings to support this journey—events that celebrate self-care, community, and connection to nature. We are excited to announce the following new offerings for this month:

Children’s Offerings: Designed to inspire wonder and connection to the natural world, our new events for children nurture their imaginations while providing parents with time to unwind and enjoy some well-deserved rest. These nature-driven, playful experiences are part of our mission to bring families a balanced approach to wellness, honoring both adult and child in their natural rhythms.

Sacred Feminine Cacao Ceremony: This month, we are also introducing a deeply transformative Sacred Feminine Cacao Ceremony. This gathering offers a pathway to heart-centered healing and self-discovery, guided by the gentle energy of Mama Cacao and your sacred guide, Elsa Alegría. Journey with us to be invited to reconnect with the sacred feminine within, embracing the wisdom, warmth, and compassion that resides in us all.

Discover the healing power of expressing your grief through writing, whether or not you consider yourself a writer or creative. This class is designed for anyone who has experienced or is living with grief.

Writing Your Grief is more than a writing class; it is a sacred community of individuals who have experienced loss. It offers a safe and nurturing way to explore and release emotion and share the truth about living with grief without edit, shame, or fear of judgment.

When we speak our grief aloud, we move it from a place of shadow and isolation into the light of day and a shared experience.

By listening to your story within your pain and discomfort and witnessing others, we heal and expand our capacity for compassion.

Grief, like joy, like love, is the joint space between us.

We don’t need to change, fix a broken heart, move on, or get advice on grief. We need sovereignty, community, and a safe place to land.

We invite you to join us for Grief Writing and find solace and belonging in ritual and community by celebrating, honoring, and expressing our sorrow, the ones we lost, and the grief we feel as we heal through the power of storytelling.

Who should attend?
● Anyone who has experienced loss or grief.
● Anyone interested in writing as a self-care practice.
● Anyone curious about an authentic and supportive way to engage with your emotions, body, and creativity.

What kinds of losses can I write about?
● Deaths of anyone important to you: spouses, parents, pets, siblings, children, partners, friends, family members, colleagues – if their death impacts you, you can write about them.
● Any loss you identify as being deeply part of you (health-related, relationships, jobs) – especially if it’s never been acknowledged.
● Recent and present grief as well as deep-rooted, older grief and loss.

How to prepare for class:
● Please bring something to write with. This could be paper, a journal or notebook, and a pen.
● Come as you are. Our writing practice is meant to meet us where we are as we are and will support each of us very uniquely.
● Create an intention for yourself and our time together.

Welcome to The Vortex Bay Area!

We are a wellness hub of community healing through a plethora of alternative modalities: New Moon and Full Moon Ceremonies, Reiki, Sound Journeys, Guided Visualization, Embodied Movement, AND collaboration with aligned guest practitioners deepening our offerings through their own personal brand of alternative and complimentary medicine!
