Have you heard about order gatherers? I hadn't either before starting this business, but right now they are trying hard to sell you Valentine's flowers.

Order gatherers are national or international companies that take out ads on Google, Facebook, YouTube and other internet sites promising you low prices and local flowers. They literally masquerade as local floral shops in their advertising however, they are actually just a website or phone bank. They do not have a shop and they never touch your flowers.

What do they do then? They simply take your order. Then they Google search for a florist that is local to you. They try to pass the order to them. However, they deduct fees from the amount you paid and ask the florist who is doing the work to do it for less. If the florist accepts the order, they are on a tight budget to get it done and can only fill it to the amount they are being paid by the third party.

Many who order from them are just flat out disappointed. The order gatherers set high expectations by using generated photos. For instance, if they sell a dozen roses, they'll show you a photo of a circular design and all 12 roses will be visible in the photo. The bouquet looks nice and full and the customer buys. The florist who fulfills the order gets an order for a dozen roses in a circular design. They do exactly that but have to spread the roses around in the design. Now naturally, only five can be seen from any one side. The customer, understandably feels jilted. The florist has done as requested but the unrealistic expectation set by the order gatherer has hurt them both.

So what should you do to get great product when you need it? Make a relationship with a real local florist. Sounds like a shameless plug but it isn't. I'd love to provide service for you but if I'm not a good fit, you still have lots of great options available!

All of these shops and businesses are local and they are ready to serve you! They are happy to put together your Valentines, Easter and Mother's day flowers. They'll make the corsage and bout for your kid's dance night. They'll stay up late putting together a hundred and twenty bud vases for your baby shower. They'll bring you flowers for every anniversary and celebrate right along with you. They'll drive to the wholesaler at 4 am on a Sunday to make sure there are beautiful flowers for your loved one's funeral service. They'll get to know you and do their best for you. You'll get great product and more of it too because there's no middle man taking a cut.

This year skip the order gathers and buy direct from a real life florist. You won't regret it!

The kids are back in school so I am available for pick up and delivery orders this week and I am so excited about it!!

I splurged a bit at our floral suppliers this morning so this week's bouquets are featuring the most gorgeous soft peachy garden rose. Her name is Princess Crown and she's lovely!! I'm mixing her in with Lilac cushion mums and soft yellow mini carns. They are going to be so pretty!

We got our Google listing! I can't tell you how excited I am! Google prefers brick and mortar businesses and being home-based has meant a lot of back and forth but my sweet husband, got it done.

I am so thankful for your support this year!!

I do a ton of my floral work here at our dining table. It's huge and let's me stay in the middle of family life as I create your orders. This is the first time in a couple weeks that it's been relatively cleaned off.

All our Christmas orders are out and ready for pickup. All of our deliveries have been made. All of our amaryllis gifts left a bit ago and for now it is done and complete and quiet.

You have blessed our family and blessed me personally throughout this year. You've let me be a part of birthdays, Valentine's, Easters, Mother's days, weddings, proms, graduations, home comings, new homes, new jobs, I love you's, baby showers, lots of seniors meals, bosses day, teacher appreciation week, nurses appreciation week, dozens of little pick me ups, hospital visits, get well soons and honoring your dear loved one's lives.

It has been an honor and a privilege and I hope that I served you well in all of these.

I have begun work and planning for 2025 including adding more varieties to our garden, bulking up our greens supply, creating a better game plan for busy holiday seasons. I hope to fine tune our website this year and make it easier for you to see all that we have to offer.

I've fallen in love with the floristry which those who know me, know that I was reticent to begin. I loved the garden and truly just wanted a way to pay for new plants 🥰 but getting to know all of you and having a chance to develop a new artistic skill that I wasn't even sure I had has brought a lot of meaning and pleasure to my life.

Thank you! Thank you from me and from my family. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year! I hope to serve you again in 2025!
