On Wednesday, I had the chance to hang out at one of the best hoagie and cheesesteak spots in our area — Old Mill Hoagie in Mainville, recently voted Best Cheesesteak by BBQ-&-Brew.
While photographing some promo shots, I got to watch Julie and Robert, an incredible father–daughter duo, take on order after order without missing a single beat. Their kitchen runs like a well-oiled grill — perfectly in sync, bouncing off each other but never in each other’s way.
In just a short time, I watched nearly 100 orders get prepped, wrapped, and handed off to the steady line of customers waiting at the counter, all to the soundtrack of some amazing rock music.
And as a photographer who has definitely sampled their menu more than once, I can honestly say the food is fresh, perfectly seasoned, and loaded with flavor. It’s rare these days to find a place that puts so much heart into both their product and their prep — and Old Mill Hoagie does exactly that.
