Every year around this time, the 2 cities of Berkeley & Albany work together to transform Solano Avenue into a mile-long walking street for the day. It's called The Solano Avenue Stroll... and it's happening this Sunday 9/8 from 10 to 5. KALX will have a booth there! (We're jazzed!) We hope you'll stroll over and say hello!

Are you going to be at the Solano Avenue Stroll this Sunday, September 8th?
WE ARE! That's right, KALX will be "doing the Stroll" with you, all day from 10 to 5!
Our booth will be just "a few blocks west of the very top" (the Berkeley end).

Anyway, I'm going to be hosting the "Why Baby Why" show **tonight at Midnight** on 90.7 fm KALX Berkeley, and online at kalx.berkeley.edu for those of you NOT within the terrestrial listening zone. I wanted to let you know that.

DJ PennyRoyal invited the band Juicebumps to play on "KALX Live!" this past Saturday night... a fun time was had!
It's currently KALX's big 2024 Fundraiser (going through Wednesday 4/24). The video feed of their set that night didn't *quite work out to be viewable in real time* that night. Whoopsie! These technical difficulties can happen.
(If only we have some money to fix our wonky tech...) 😏

You can access the archive on kalx.berkeley.edu for 2 weeks just in case you need to hit the hay early so you can milk the cows in the morning. 👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽*Post-Show Airing Note: The archived show that’s up for 2 weeks will have 14 unwanted/unrelated minutes of music at the beginning due to the station’s show-player *having a fit of some sort* this evening. Due to the technical difficulties, listeners who seek out the archive to listen to later will hear the show start ~14 minutes in, but hopefully the whole thing will play if you stick with it past the one-hour point! (Not sure!)

Well, this was an unexpected surprise!
A re-airing of the KALX Live! 2023 RetroSpectacular Extravaganza is playing on the KALX airwaves RIGHT NOW during our overnight hours.
Sounds like it started at 2:00 am, so this 5-hour special show oughta go all the way to 7:00 am. (I just went into our logging to show the plays, so you can see the entries.)
So to all you insomniacs and shift workers… I’m with ya in prerecorded spirit! (Please enjoy!)

The tradition continues in 2023! Back in 2011, the KALX Live! show crew had an idea… to make a special year-end episode that could look back on the plethora of exciting performances which took place during the year— a retrospective of spectacular proportions.

The tradition of the "RetroSpectacular Extravaganza" was born then, and amazingly, we’ve been doing it ever since!

Tune in Saturday, December 30th at 7PM - Midnight to catch the KALX Live! 2023 RetroSpectacular Extravaganza hosted by Cia Cia La Pirata.
