austin and jane met when we were freshmen in highschool together, 11 years later they tied the knot in the same town they fell in love. I have been blessed to watch their love grow over the years and this day felt full circle in so many ways.

to know these two is to love them.

saturday was a beautiful testament to that, they were surrounded by so much love and support we did not stop laughing the entire day.

here forever, please.

I have recently been reminiscing on the reasons I have a camera in the first place. to remember the now, the messy, the in between — forever. to freeze time and revisit it later. I feel so overwhelming blessed for the ability to do this.

this weekend was thrown together as a last ditch effort by my sister to spend one last weekend together before the close of summer. we almost didn’t go. I was fighting mastitis and isaac worked late on friday. but we went anyway.

I left my camera on the cabin table and picked it up for a few seconds a couple times.

now I’ll have these to look back at forever.

camp looks different these days. less skiing, less beach trips, less hiking, more nursing, contact naps and cards houses.

but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

looking forward to some end of summer/fall sessions coming up. I haven’t been taking many sessions this summer due to the baby + weddings, but am back in the swing of things now!

My favorite pictures are the ones that capture the in-between, the perfectly imperfect moments of you and your family.

— 4 years ago when I started this business, I had NO IDEA the direction it would go, and that is such a good thing!

— I reallyyyyy wanted my brand to focus on WHY I think video is so important, especially for your wedding. This is the whole reason behind making the switch to specifically wedding films 🎞️

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then video is worth a million.

🤍🤍 I have shared this in the past, but every year on my parents wedding anniversary — we rewatch their wedding video. I get to see faces of family who are no longer here, hear the bagpipes my dad INSISTED on having at the church and see my mom cry as my dad says his vows to her.

✨ — I wanted that for my kids, and I want it for yours.

that is the big to-do behind Allie Havens Film. I think everyone should be able to relive one of the biggest days of their lives over and over again.

I haven’t posted myself on here in a minute so enjoy some crazy random facts about me belowww just because 👇🏼

🦖 if you ask my close friends, in an awkward situation sometimes I scream like a dinosaur (what)

👮🏼‍♀️ for 10 years of my life I planned on becoming a syracuse police officer, just like my dad

🥜 I’m allergic to peanuts and shellfish (very inconvenient)

🚤 when I was a kid, I would always sneak away and take naps in the boat on the dock. somethin about the waves was just ***chefs kiss*🤌🏼

💗 if I could give you words of wisdom right now, it would be: check your priorities. who or what is taking up your time and money and does that align with your long term goals?

🐮 my favorite job (I’ve had like 20) was breeding cows. I worked all over the northeast for a few years before I became a photographer. part of my heart will always be on the farm. ask me a question about it ~~ I love to talk about it.

✨ my proudest parent moment ever was last week when Layne started praying on her own. my testimony is a pretty harsh one, full of trials and grace but to watch her soaking in those things makes my heart so happy.

💸 if I won the lottery I would probably buy 500 remote acres with no cell service off grid and move my family there lol

🎷 I played the saxophone for 10 years and can still rip some pretty good louie louie or thrift shop

👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ I am the oldest of 4 siblings and I love them all endlesslyyyyyy. we are all SO different.

🎥 my favorite thing about my job is creating a movie that harnesses so much emotion for couples to look back on forever. the thought of your grandkids watching that someday.. I love it so much.

ok but can we talk about how we blinked and the month of june flew by??

and now the first week in july? I feel like it was yesterday we were planning out how this summer would go and it has hit full force!! bbqs, boat days, side jobs, home projects, sweating your f***y off, finding things to do with your kids so you don’t go stir crazy at home.. it’s here.

remember these days will be over as quickly as they snuck up on us. do the things you wanna do, sit out in the sun with your book and a kiddie pool, take your friends up on their boat invitations, make the memories with your kids. these are the best days ☀️🍉🌻🌊🦀

Romans 12:6-8
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
