PEONIES!!

No, they are not from Alaska. They are from……My fridge. And my sister’s mature plants but I digress. My first attempt at preserving them for later use and I wouldn’t call it a complete failure! I literally just unpacked them so they look a little mushed but hopefully over the next couple of days they perk up.

Would I do things differently next time? Yes. But, hey, I’m learning!

I have not been grasshoppers’ biggest fan this season, it’s true. But this guy was so beautifully camouflaged it surprised me.

It reminded me that we are each “oddballs” and deserving of a double take.

I will be the first to admit I was skeptical… but anyone who knows me knows not to judge my on my broke ass fingernails and the dirt that is always under them…. But I tried Color Street and I’m beyond impressed! I put these on less than an hour before literally digging in the dirt. GLOVELESS. For an hour. So yeah. I’ll be buying more.

My little garden helper snapped a photo! She helped me take out the sweet peas (I know, some of you are probably gasping!) and cut all of these beautiful snaps. I’ve learned so much over these past few months. I’m not a naturally patient person. I struggle with letting go and letting it be. I overthink nearly everything. Catmint at sunset. I feel as though this little plant is often overlooked or seen as “common” and boring. But, really, it is a powerhouse. Tough as nails, it is perfect for Colorado. It needs little water and makes an awesome, long lasting filler in bouquets. When it flops in mid summer just shear it back by half and it comes back for more!
