The Collins Bar, a longstanding cornerstone in Birmingham's cocktail scene for over a decade, is actively hiring a bartender to join our team. We're seeking individuals with a robust knowledge of cocktails, including the ability to modify and craft unique creations, as well as familiarity with spirits, wines, aperitifs, and digestifs.
While our training program will cover essential aspects of business flow, we require candidates to meet certain qualifications. Bartenders should demonstrate the ability to swiftly read and execute orders, warmly welcome guests, provide top-notch hospitality, and skillfully manage the room as an outstanding host. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, exhibiting unwavering professionalism, being punctual, and having the stamina for extended, yet rewarding, service hours (up to twelve) are crucial attributes.
In executing tickets, we uphold the principle of "Tell us what you like, we'll take it from there," fostering a Trust Your Bartender approach. Ticket requests such as "Vodka Fruity Not Too Sweet," "Manhattan Variation, Nutty," "Mezcal Citrus Herbal," and "Espresso Martini" are deciphered swiftly by our bartenders. This involves translating these preferences into delicious, cost-effective creations on the spot. For instance, an order for "Vodka Fruity Not Too Sweet" might result in an Apple-Allspice Collins, while "Manhattan Variation, Nutty" could translate to a Salted Pecan Manhattan. A request for "Mezcal Citrus Herbal" might lead to a Mezcal, Lime, Cappelletti, and Strega Sour, and "Espresso Martini" would be meticulously crafted into a perfectly made rendition. Beyond crafting complex cocktails, our bartenders are equally adept at serving beer, shots, Long Island Iced Teas, or any other drink our guests desire.
