This past weekend I had the best time with my best gals at the best garden party of all time. put together the most magical celebration of sisterhood at her lovely home and I had so much fun with the flowers for this beautiful day. I took advantage of all the Statice and Strawflower growing in the garden and we made flower crowns that can be dried and kept forever. Happy May Day! We had a busy weekend with our first wedding of the season and then an awesome open house at where we not only got to meet a ton of wonderful couples but also got spoiled with food and drinks from all of the amazing vendors. We can’t wait to be back this summer!

Guys, the rain is coming! In the meantime Leo and I have been busy taking full advantage of this late summer weather. We are spending our days in the garden documenting all of our old and new dahlia varieties, well, I am, she is busy finding all the raspberries still left on the vines. 😜

With a new baby on the farm, this year in flowers looked a bit different for us. This past weekend was one of just a few flower events we have scheduled this summer and we are so glad we got to be a part of it. Garlic & Goats hosted by the talented was a blast! We were so busy we didn’t even take a single photo. Thanks to our sweet family and friends for making sure to take a few for us and thank you to everyone who came out, said hello, and took home a bouquet. ❤️

The sweet peas are still going strong here at the farm, although the long stems have come and gone they are still just as lovely and smell as good as ever! We are back in the garden after a day off to recover from the busy weekend. Thank you to everyone who came out to Enumclaw, we made so many new friends and are so great full for the support. We can’t wait to do it again!

I got tired of waiting for ripe tomatoes till September so this year we are growing tomatoes in the greenhouse and if you can’t tell by the photo, they are really happy. So happy they have grown straight up and out through the vents in the roof! There is definitely some bruschetta in my future, what’s your favorite tomato recipe? 🍅

Ruby and I went on a scavenger hunt in the bird garden for quail eggs this morning. Unlike chickens quail are not picky about where they lay their eggs so it can be challenging to hunt them down. Besides being adorable these little eggs are delicious and taste very much like chicken eggs. The biggest difference is that there is a higher yolk to white ratio and they are creamier and slightly richer in taste. Have you ever tried quail eggs? 🍳

The lilacs are exploding here in the PNW, their scent is intoxicating but they sure are a fleeting flower. We were lucky to inherit three beautiful lilacs with the farm that are over fifty years old, and I look forward to lilac season each year. Get out there and grab some before they are gone!

I believe it’s time for me to introduce myself, I'm Kailee founder of Nanny Goats and Blooms. I am a wife, mother of three, farmer, florist and goat wrangler. My family and I live on a small, five acre "Funny Farm" as we like to call it, located in the foothills of the Cascades just north of Mt. Rainer. Nanny Goats and Blooms was born from my love of flowers, animals, and working in the garden. Over the years my small garden has grown exponentially with the help of my honey doo, family, and friends. What started out as a few rows of my favorite Dahlias has grown to over an acre of specialty cut flowers, produce, and now over 150 varieties of Dahlias. This summer we plan to sell our flowers for wholesale, to DIY brides and grooms, offering seasonal you pick events, and we also plan to visit local farmers markets. One of my favorite quotes is "Flowers always make people better, happier, and more hopeful."- Luther Burbank, and I truly believe this with my whole heart. My goal is to share my love of flowers and gardening with all of you.
