Flyers and tickets HAVE ARRIVED for Oklahoma Paranormal Association's which will be bringing a weekend of excitement to Blackwell's Event Center & Fairgrounds!

The 2021 Oklahoma Paracon will feature guest speakers including the Wraith Chasers (The Official Wraith Chasers Fan Page) as seen on Destination America's "Ghost Asylum" and "Haunted Towns".

Other speakers will be present on a wide range of topics including Bigfoot, Cryptozoology, and UFO/Alien research. This is expected to draw a HUGE crowd!

The Vendors Hall will be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and is looking to feature LOCAL VENDORS in addition to the variety of vendors that will be coming from across the midwest.

WHAT'S GOING ON THIS WEEKEND? EVERYTHING! RIGHT HERE IN TOWN!

This weekend the Blackwell Fairgrounds will be hosting FOUR (4) events running throughout Saturday! PLEASE share this, and make sure everyone knows where to go!

SATURDAY At the LIVESTOCK PAVILION (Purple) will be the Community Easter Egg Hunt from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Food, bouncy houses, games and FUN.

SATURDAY at the EVENT CENTER (Red) will be the final night of the Community Revival at 7 P.M. Join members of the community for a faith-based night of music, praise, and scripture.

SATURDAY along MAIN STREET on the slab (Green) will be the BLACKWELL FLEA MARKET. It is officially market season, and Blackwell merchants will be there beginning at 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.

SATRUDAY outside MORGAN FIELD (Pink) will be the Let's Talk Small Business pop-up marketplace beginning at 12 PM NOON featuring over 7 locally owned merchants and the Big Time BBQ food truck.

This past weekend the Blackwell Event Center hosted the Micro Wrestling Federation bringing in over 400 individuals to watch the chaos and fun!

🙌 REVIVE BLACKWELL: EVENT CENTER TO HOST REVIVAL 🙌

Blackwell's Event Center is hosting a community-wide revival, put on by local church groups. The event will be from March 31- April 3 beginning at 7 p.m. each night and will feature singing, prayer, and inspirational speaking from evangelist Scott Cox.

The event is free to the public.

A weekend of chills and thrills is coming to Blackwell this June with OKLAHOMA PARACON, being held for the first time ever right here at our Event Center featuring the Tennessee Wraith Chasers as seen on Travel Channel's "HAUNTED LIVE" as well as Destination America's "Haunted Hospitals" and "Ghost Asylum".

PARACON, being hosted by the Oklahoma Paranormal Association, will feature vendors, guest speakers, giveaways, and investigations (LOCATIONS TBD)

Blackwell's 4-H and FFA held their local livestock show yesterday at the Blackwell Livestock Pavilion.

We love to see our kids in action, and taking advantage of our beautiful facility!

This week is the County Livestock Show, beginning today through Wednesday!

The City of Blackwell is once again proud to welcome the young men and women of Blackwell's 4-H and FFA organizations for their local livestock show this Sunday at the Livestock Pavilion.

Blackwell's local show will lead into the Kay County Livestock Show which will be held next week at the Pavilion.

Last month, Tonkawa held their local show at our Livestock Pavilion, and praised the location for it's cleanliness and ease of access. We look forward to having them back, and supporting county-wide livestock programs for many years to come!

TONKAWA FFA & 4H- THANKS FOR THE A-MOO-ZING TIME!

Tonkawa Ag Boosters held their Local Livestock Show here at the Blackwell Livestock Pavilion this past Sunday for their 4-H and FFA students to compete their cows, barrows, goats, lambs, and more.

Using the Pavilion's fully customizable interior of pens and gates, the Tonkawa Ag had their most "stress free" show in years, according to Tonkawa 4-H Club Leader Melissa Miller.

Tonkawa FFA & 4-H thanked the City of Blackwell for the clean and event-ready facilities, which they stated were easy to manage, maintain, and set up.

In 2020, Tonkawa worked closely with the City of Blackwell and the Kay County Fair Board to improve our rodeo grounds. We are glad to continue this bountiful relationship that will positively impact Kay County and the Blackwell area for YEARS to come!

The City of Blackwell entered 2021 as Oklahoma's 13th Purple Heart City, a recognition given to cities that honor and support the men and women of the U.S. Military.

Last week, Blackwell Public Power and other city employees helped to hang our brand new flags at the Event Center.

WELCOME: YOUTH RODEO AND CARSON & BARNES CIRCUS

This weekend the Blackwell Fairgrounds will be hosting two events: The Oklahoma Youth Ranch Rodeo Association will be here SATURDAY October 17 and SUNDAY October 18.

The Carson & Barnes "Transformers Circus of Stars" will be here SATURDAY OCTOBER 17 for two shows at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the LIVESTOCK PAVILION.

The circus is REQUIRING social distancing and masks to be worn. The Pavilion will be opened for airflow.

We are asking CIRUCS GUESTS to park in the "green zone" and NOT to congest the streets throughout the Fairgrounds.

We are asking the RODEO attendees to park to the south, marked in purple. RODEO will also be using the R/V hookups in the Ferguson St. field.

We are asking ALL GUESTS and HOSTS to be courteous of eachother's space.

The Flea Market will be held in the grassy space just off of Main Street at it's usual time.

The Blackwell Event Center is happy to welcome the Oklahoma Youth Ranch Rodeo Association this summer!

Alright folks, here it is! Please note locations (Blackwell events will be held at the fairgrounds-the new arena will be up and going by then). Any rodeos that can't be held will be canceled once the rainout date is filled. If needed, we will adjust the required number of rodeos (if the finals rodeo has to be canceled, we will use points from each team's top one-over-half rodeos alone to figure finals standings). The "Back in the Saddle Rodeo/Clinic" will be a great time for newbies to ranch rodeo and seasoned members alike. It will be run like a regular rodeo but points will not count toward finals. We will demonstrate events before we run them and slow down to answer any questions, give tips where we can. You can call in for it anytime between now and May 18th to 580-716-2771. Fees will be $10 w/ no payout. Thanks for all your patience in these unexpected times-we are excited to get the season rolling!

Mark your calendars! March 27, the 101 Wild West Rodeo's 101 Ranch Show (from the The 101 Ranch Collectors Association) is coming to town! You can read all about the 101 Ranch and their century and-a-half of Oklahoma history right here in a historical article published by the Blackwell Journal-Tribune last year before the 2019 show.
