Magic comes in all forms: little did I know when I booked my Airbnb in Blois, France that it was the home town of the father of modern magic, Robert-Houdin. His name may look familiar because Houdini used it as his stage name in honor of him.

Tours of his house where closed, so I performed a few magic tricks to his statue.

Later, I came acrossed an old book store and asked (en français), “Avez-vous des livres sur la magie ou prestidigitation ?” He went into a glass case to pull out a first edition of Robert-Houdin’s memoirs published in 1868, in pristine condition. Needless to say the coincidence of it all was too profound—so, I bought it!

Sometimes we are just in harmony with the universe 😉.

Behind an unmarked black door off Broadway in Nashville is the new House of Cards magic lounge and theater (under the Johnny Cash Museum). No photos allowed inside, but it was amazing! Magicians performing everywhere. Eating dinner, we spotted Penn Jillete and Matt King at the booth across from us! Fantastic venue—check it out!
