Jackpot Karaoke Details:

- How to Participate: Sign up for one song at a time. After you sing, pull a chip from the money bag. Green chips win a prize, red chips mean you take an action, and other colors may have surprises or nothing at all. It’s all part of the fun!
Special Rules:
- If nobody pulls the $50 cash prize, it increases by $25 each week until it hits $100.
- Want to contribute to the prize pool? You can add any amount to the kitty – $1, $5, $10 – every bit makes the night even more exciting!
Any prizes not pulled, that you the Karaoke Community contribute, will roll over to the next week, ensuring that the fun and rewards keep coming. If someone pulls the “Big” cash prize, the following week it goes back to $50.

Hey Karaoke Family,
I’ve been getting so many messages and calls about how fantastic last night was, and I just had to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for making it so special. With A&P closed the past couple of weeks, I was really worried about the turnout, but you all showed up in full force and made it an unforgettable evening.
From the moment the karaoke started, the energy was electric and it never stopped! We had three brand new singers who had never experienced karaoke before, which is always such an honor. It was great to see so many people show up for a chance to pull the winning poker chip. The most popular chip pulled last night was "Pull for the next singer," which kept the fun rolling nonstop.
A special shoutout to Todd, who won a scratch-off ticket and was just one number away from winning $50,000! And let’s not forget Chance, who stole the show by pulling the Carpool Karaoke chip, singing “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys, and then pulling the $50 chip right after. What a night!
But the absolute highlight was seeing two different couples who came in at 8:15, sat quietly watching the whole show, and then nervously asked if they could sing as the bar was clearing out. After some encouragement and finding just the right song, they sang their hearts out. It was their first time, and they were worried about messing up, but I reminded them that karaoke is a community where everyone is equal, regardless of their singing ability. No negativity here – just a place to forget about the outside world and have a great time.
I’m already looking forward to next week at A&P Tap for more Jackpot Karaoke, where the jackpot will be back at $50 along with some regular and new prizes. Plus, we’re introducing something brand new – the “Mystery Music Machine!” Here’s how it works: we’ll have a list of 10 mystery songs, and the first singer to perform one of these songs
In case you missed karaoke on Friday night, you never know what kind of shenanigans one will get into when making the drive to Whitney's Cove in Clinton, IL. In the 12 years we have been out here, we had several firsts on Friday. We had a conga line, and at the end of the night, for Jukebox Karaoke, we had a "Gentleman's Bet" to determine who could sing the song better. The wager may or may not have been $200 and a handshake at the end. The second-place finisher demanded a double or nothing next week. They left the bar, went home, and called the bar to ask, "Do you really think that they beat me?" Stay tuned or come out to Whitney's Cove next Friday night, starting at 8 PM and going all the way till midnight, sometimes 1 AM. This could get very interesting.

I just wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude. I've been DJing at Whitney's Cove in Clinton, IL for 12 years now. The distance, combined with a few other factors, has often meant I haven't posted about the times and days I've been there. But, there have been a few of you who have made the journey down every once in a while, and we've always had an amazing time.
Recently, I was asked to KJ the 2nd Annual Karaoke Contest for Kloe’s Giving Heart on Blackout Wednesday. I've been DJing back in Bloomington consistently for the last 2 years at A&P TAP and thought I would share this event with my karaoke family here.
Going into the contest, I had no expectations. A concern was raised about the fairness of the contest. Would it be a popularity contest or would it be judged fairly? I shared these concerns, especially considering we were in a small town where everyone knows everyone. But you, the singers of Bloomington/Normal, showed up in a massive way and made the night truly unforgettable.
I am excited to share that the singers from our Karaoke in Bloomington placed first, second, and third at the contest! I cannot express how proud and grateful I am for each and every one of you. Your performances were awe-inspiring, and your commitment to giving back to the community through your raw talent was deeply moving.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I also want to express my appreciation for those who have welcomed me with open arms and who visit me weekly. Your presence and genuine friendship have brought immeasurable joy to my life. The laughter, smiles, and shared experiences are memories that I treasure.
We are more than a community of singers; we are friends, we are family. I can't thank you enough for making my evening, and indeed my life, unforgettable.
