Every June like clock work we see 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 across Instagram and social media platforms of accounts showing their support for the LGBTQIA+ community. While pride month is a time to show support & to celebrate q***r love, it also should be used as a time for reflection.

Did you know it was not until 1999 that President Clinton declared June to be “Gay and Le***an Pride Month”? Pride month was started to honor the anniversary of Stonewall and in hopes to “teach our children to respect one another, to appreciate our differences, and to recognize the fundamental values that we hold in common”. Since the start of pride, the LGBTQIA+ community have and continue to go through it. Why should love be looked at as anything but a beautiful thing? Why is this support something that still needs to be shown and addressed and not something that is common place and felt throughout your community already? There’s a sense of sadness I feel around the fact that I need to verbalize this support. To love is the greatest gift and the greatest joy in life. If you have found love, know we whole heartedly support that love and hope to celebrate that love with you! (Ehem still booking 2024 & 2025)

To show our love and support for the q***r community this year we will have a booth at the local pride festival in Plymouth Center on 6/30 at Nelson Park to showcase our event and wedding planning services to our local LGBTQIA+ couples! Come and see us if you are in the area!

Post ceremony high! ✨

Let’s talk transportation! How did these fabulous people get to their church ceremony on time you ask? With the help from our AFE team of course! Ehem (hey Blair, Pascale & Elyse)

I hear time and time again that the thing causing the most stress during the months leading up to the wedding is transportation! Are you needing to coordinate how your wedding party, family and guests get to your off-site ceremony on time? Don’t stress- that’s where we come in! Let us review your transportation contract and create a timeline for your vendors that will ensure your loved ones will arrive as scheduled with time to spare prior to the start time of your ceremony!

Monday mornings look a little different for AFE during wedding season! During our busy season we do not get a traditional weekend off- our busiest days are actually Friday and Saturday (sometimes even Sunday)! That means we tend to take our Sundays and Mondays as rest days.
•
Just a tip to all our couples currently planning their special day- if you reach out to your vendors Friday afternoon through Sunday you most likely will not get a response until Monday or Tuesday! Be patient with us- we are working hard to bring so many special events to life but also need a little rest in between. 🙃
•
I have posted my hours to my story if anyone needs a reminder of what the next few months may look like for AFE. Today, we will be getting some serious R&R to prepare for another packed week of planning! We cannot wait to celebrate L&A and L&B this weekend! Bring it on June, we’re ready for ya!

Don’t underestimate a detail shot! 📸📸

Some of my favorite photos to look back on after an AFE wedding are the flat lays and detail shots. There is just something so special and beautiful about those little items that help tie the day together (pun intended).

At AFE we always make sure to discuss wedding details and flat lays during our detail call/ timeline discussion. When you realize you get to dance your ass off the rest of the night once you’re done cutting your wedding cake!

Pro tip- if you want the traditional moment of cutting your cake captured on your big day but don’t want to break the bank with a 3-4 tiered wedding cake consider ordering a 6-10 inch cake along with sheet pan cakes. Keep your personal cake for late night eats or for your 1 year anniversary and serve the sheet pan cakes to your guests! Another great option for your guests would be to secure a dessert station upgrade from your caterer. Milk and cookie station, donut station, assorted mini pastries? Twist my arm.

One trend I hope to keep seeing this year is mismatched bridesmaids dresses! I love how fun and whimsical they look together- the complimentary colors, different patterns & styles…Not only do they look amazing together but you get to give your best girlfriends the opportunity to choose what they want to wear on your wedding day! Today’s rainy, snowy, sleety day has me thinking of my go to saying from last year- Rain or shine, it’s still a good time!

When I tell people I have 60+ umbrellas in the back of my car at all times the immediate reaction is “WHAT” followed by some giggles. I agree it’s excessive but looking at the forecast from the past year… can you blame me!? From Memorial Day to October we had 5 rain free weekends.

One huge part of being a wedding planner is being prepared and ready to handle any situation or hiccup on your special day! That may require having some pretty ridiculous items on hand at all times.

Planner friends- drop the most random/ funniest thing you keep on hand on the day of an event! Mine has to be either tourist ponchos or the excessive umbrellas 😂

Our favorite shot? A messy cake shot of course! There is something so imperfectly perfect about capturing the wedding cake after our newlyweds dig in and are off to breaking it down on the dance floor.

Perfectly imperfect moments are what weddings are all about! As we approach the weekend and my LAST wedding of 2023, it’s only right that I throw it back to our very FIRST wedding of 2023 with C&B.

Each wedding this season has been wonderfully unique. Each love story different and equally as beautiful as the next. One of my favorite things about planning weddings is every story, every couple, every venue, every detail is different from the last.

Absolutely loved kicking off our season celebrating these two. They tied the knot at the grooms parents backyard in one of my favorite towns- Scituate, MA. I grew up in the town over and worked in Scituate all through high school and college and absolutely loved doing an intimate backyard wedding there.

We started the season on the south shore and are ending the season this weekend in the north shore at the lovely restaurant.

Main character energy, as it should be!!

The most perfect day for K&T. Forecast had called for rain all week and shifted drastically last minute to one of the most beautiful August summer days.
