"Michael Jackson called me on the phone and said, 'Are you Zac from High School Musical?' I said yes, and he replied, 'I love what you do. I'm a big fan.' I almost died—I couldn’t believe he knew who I was. I just started crying, I was a mess. I told him he was my hero, that he was the reason I did what I did. I thanked him for everything—for teaching me to dance, for teaching me to believe in myself, for teaching me to shine. And that made him cry too. We were both crying on the phone. Then he ended the conversation by saying, 'Hey Zac, isn’t it amazing?' And I asked, 'What is?' He said, 'Dreams really do come true, don’t they?'"
