Dear athletes,
Registration is now open, for the NEW 13.1 10k 5k
As we reflect on the challenges we faced this past year, including resident dissatisfaction with road closures, unexpected interventions from the Sheriff, and a shortage of volunteers, we have made tough decisions regarding our upcoming Marathon event.
After careful consideration and discussions with local authorities, we have decided to remove the full Marathon from our event and focus solely on the half Marathon, 10k, and 5k races. This adjustment allows us to streamline our operations and address some of the concerns raised by the community.
Here's a brief overview of the changes:
New Half Marathon Course: We have designed a new course for the half marathon, consisting of three loops. This course offers a fresh and exciting experience for participants while minimizing disruptions to the surrounding area.
Reversed Course for 10k and 5k: The 10k and 5k races will follow the same course as last year but in the reverse direction. This decision aims to maintain familiarity for returning participants while introducing a new challenge.
Expanded Parking: I'm pleased to announce that the church has purchased land next to the start line and created additional parking space. This expansion addresses one of the key concerns raised by participants and ensures a smoother experience for everyone involved.
Your opinion and suggestions are invaluable to us as we navigate these changes and strive to improve our event. We would greatly appreciate it if you could share your thoughts with us. Whether you have feedback on the course design, logistics, or any other aspect of the event, we are eager to hear from you.
