The Casqueira Holiday Light Show, located at 843 Downey Avenue (08723), is a free event. We are a synchronized light display, consisting of over 100,000 LED's and thousands of individually addressable pixels. During the holiday season, (Halloween and Christmas), we announce the dates and times of our di
splay. We transmit our audio over local radio station 103.1FM, which you can enjoy from the comfort of your vehicle. Each show, we collect monetary donations for a non-profit, charity, or fund of our choice. Our shows are our hobby, we do not expect to profit off of what we love to do. We always ask viewers and visitors to please be courteous of our neighbors, and property. Manny Casqueira, (the husband over here), builds the display. Our garage and home are covered in tens of thousands of LED's. The lights are strung from pvc pipe, at three inch spacing. Any permanent structures, like fencing, is also strung with tens of thousands of LED's at three inch spacing. During the spooky season, you'll witness a spooky jack-o'-lantern face singing the vocals from the height of our garage. He is constructed from hundreds of LED's, wooden boards, metal framing, and Manny placed each LED ever so carefully! During the Christmas season, we replace our spooky face with a brilliant singing Christmas Tree! This was constructed with 8-foot corrugated plastic, over one thousand LED's, and many, many hours of careful placement. Every year we save up to try to add new props to our yard, some of the yard has even been donated to us by supporters of what we do. Melissa, aka, the wife of the property is the computer programmer. We have 8 computerized controllers that signal to our display, when to blink, flash, fade in, etc. 5 of those controllers, contain 16 channels each, amounting to 80 channels of programmable LED's. Melissa programs each song, to the tenth of the second, each channel individually programmed and coordinated to a soundtrack. Melissa also runs our social media, and she designs, creates, and responds to our Santa mail. Our addition of pixels during the 2021 Holiday season has allowed us to individually address each pixel, to one of millions of different colors. Now, we are able to display clipart, jpegs, pdf files, etc. of characters or other effects in our front yard. Once the show is programmed, it's sent to a pi, on a private show network created by a wifi router, which is controlled by a master pi. This signal is sent to a Kulp computerized pixel controller, which wirelessly sends a signal to smart receivers, and also contains a differential controller to daisy chain 5 LOR controllers through a dmx. During the Christmas season, you will find a red life-size Santa mailbox in our front yard. Please remember to leave an address and name, if you would like a response. Melissa also tries to make Nice List certificates for the children. We do really appreciate when parents leave a self-addressed envelope with postage, as we do not take any proceeds from the charity collection. To help fund the light show, our family owns and operates a small business: The Casqueira Holiday Light Show Custom Shirts and Customizable Crafts. We offer custom vinyl designs, shirts, sublimation, direct vinyl, and so much more! A proceed from every sale is personally attributed to our current charity donation/collection.
