Kendra & Drew🤍

After a private wedding in Costa Rica, Kendra & Drew wanted to celebrate with family and friends right here in Brighton. They wanted something simple, but classy and wanted to incorporate their favorite book, “The Four Loves” by C.S. Lewis.

We decided to go with Brewery Becker as the venue since it has that beautiful old world charm.

Of course I went full-in on the book theme gathering up all the antique books throughout my house (fyi…I am quite the collector of beautiful books), so that we could incorporate them on the tablescapes. Kendra and Drew had thought up the idea to make little table signs that explain the 4 loves (storge, philia, eros, agape) which we intermingled on the tables with pictures of their wedding in Costa Rica.

My favorite details were the antique typewriter on the guest table with their favorite quote from the book and copies of “The Four Loves” for guests to take home.

Overall, a magical evening celebrating this beautiful couple🤍

Always a pleasure working with …especially when we both have the creative freedom to design an unforgettable dining experience for the guests✨

This intimate Spanish dinner party included a delicious 7 course tapas menu paired with 7 perfectly chosen Spanish wines by 🍷Guests dined al fresco on back porch, the most perfect backdrop for my tablescape.

Since there were only 10 guests, I got to bring out ALL the fun vintage plates and glassware. The Spode dinner plate (which was used as a charger for all the small white tapas plates) was the inspiration for the table and paired nicely with my cobalt blue water goblets. Each wine pairing used a different vintage wine glass so that guests could differentiate the wines.

Overall, a beautiful evening with beautiful people🤍

Let’s talk about the Brighton Light House💛

Did you know that you can book their spaces for social private events without being a member? The Light House used to do this themselves in the past, but starting in 2024 we partnered together to make a Light House/Reed & Co package. This combines the Light House’s gorgeous spaces, grounds and amenities with my help of planning, decorating and servicing your event.

Let’s talk about Regina & Henry (trust me, it’s worth the read)♥️

Regina and I met when she contacted me through the Brighton Light House’s website inquiring about renting the venue for a small wedding. When I took them to see the space and the beautiful grounds, they knew immediately they wanted to book.

As we were planning together, I learned that Regina & Henry went to High School with each other. Henry always had a big crush on Regina, even asking her to formal school dances, but Regina was smitten with someone else at the time, so sadly the answer was always “no”.

Fast forward 54 years and Henry finally got the “yes” he was looking for after the two reunited during a class reunion♥️

It was pure joy working with these two crazy kids who were constantly giggling at each other, holding hands and stealing smooches when they thought I wasn’t looking☺️ Regina’s favorite color is blue and her favorite flower is hydrangea, so the decor and floral were an easy choice.

After the beautiful ceremony on the grounds and a group picture (kinda like herding cattle), guests enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Ciao Amici’s while listening to soft 70’s love songs.

Definitely a day I will always remember♥️

A Petals & Prosecco bridal shower is SO dreamy when you host it at 💐🍾

The Collective’s space is so light and airy it makes the perfect canvas for parties up to 40 guests. That’s why when my client, Julie, told me she wanted to do a floral themed bridal shower for her daughter with 30 guests, I knew right where to go.

Guests were greeted with a mimosa bar when they first walked in and could take a pic with the bride-to-be, Jackie, in front of the Collective’s beautiful backdrop/seating area (which is included in the rental of the space)!

They then were treated to a delicious brunch catered by whose food is always to die for!

I also set up a little coffee bar and hydration station with infused water so that guests had plenty of beverage options to choose from.

Lastly, I provided flower bags and ribbon so that each guest could take home a flower arrangement from the guest tables! I love to do this as a shower favor because it saves the client money from having to purchase flowers for a bloom bar AND table decor😉

Congratulations again, Jackie! Can’t wait to see pics of the wedding💕

Loved planning and decorating Kathleen’s baby shower!🍋

When her mother, Linda, reached out to me and said they had booked in Ferndale for the venue, I knew we needed to do an Italian theme. We decided on a rustic southern Italy vibe with obviously a lot of lemons. We kept the color palette yellow, green and white, omitting blue because that gives off a Mediterranean feel and Pop’s space is more moody and industrial. One thing I always tell my clients is to pick decor that is going to compliment your venue, otherwise it can feel forced and a bit awkward.

All the guests enjoyed a delicious brunch, took home the sweetest decorated sugar cookies made by McKenna and before they left, got to take a pic with the mom-to-be in front of one of Rosie’s .eventco beautiful balloon creations!

Congrats again, Kathleen! Cannot wait to see pics of baby Cooper💛

Still glowing about the Women’s Wellness Advance that took place at the Brighton Light House last Friday💫

55 Women gathered for a day of physical, mental and spiritual wellness lead by a dream team of practitioners, therapists and overall amazing women.

Reed & Co was proud to help enhance the experience by making attendees feel extra special throughout the day.

Our 8x12 ft floral backdrop was the ideal place to take pictures and our vintage bamboo lounge set was perfect for when ladies needed to take a moment to relax and reflect.

Of course our favorite part of the day was setting up the garden lunch in the backyard (those flowers!)🌸🌷🌺 and surprising the women later when we disassembled the floral arrangements to make a bloom bar so everyone was able to take a bouquet home at the end of the day!💐

Reed & Co loves turning events into experiences and giving those “wow” moments…pretty sure we achieved that with this one💕

Was an honor to be on the committee and offer decor services for the 2nd year to Livingston County Habitat for Humanity & Restore ‘s Arise and Shine: Women’s Empowerment Brunch✨ Over 100 women gathered to hear phenomenal motivational speakers, enjoy a delicious brunch provided by Whisk and Ivy, and of course do a little socializing. We were excited to bring some sparkle to the event by providing the stage backdrop, buffet table decor and serveware, and our popular sparkling juice and infused water concoctions🍓🍃🍋
Working with non-profits throughout the year is so important for Reed & Co. We love opportunities to give back to this beautiful community we are blessed to call home💕

While taking a few days to recharge, I had a moment to reflect on my meetings this past week. From a disco themed 15 year old birthday party, to a swanky mixology/tasting cocktail party, to graduation parties, a celebration of life, a women's empowerment brunch for a non-profit, a yoga event for another non-profit, to even the initial stages of planning for a Christmas artisan's market (think German Christmas market vibes). I am so blessed and honored to be able to work and help plan with all these amazing individuals and I LOVE that my job is unique and provides such different opportunities each day💕
