Taking pride in your work includes taking pride in the venues that you work in. Industry standard is to make sure that you put some kind of padding on the floor to protect it. We at vanguard have the padding but also decided to paint the bottom of the corner posts and cement neoprene padding onto all contact points. This double layer ensures that even the most delicate flooring should be safe.
For promoters who may be interested in doing the same: sand\ prep the bottom of the metal and use primer to seal any bare metal. We used rusty metal types just to be safe. Measure the metal and cut the neoprene a bit over sized. Spray on contact cement on both pieces, smooth and apply pressure. Once they have cured cut the excess material off and you should have years of protection. There are many sources for neoprene, in our case we used a yoga mat that we had handy. The rip stop in the mat will help it hold up longer.

We met with the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol and went over future dates. They are checking availability and we hope to announce a dozen dates in the next several days.

The Doc Says...: Back, knee, shoulder and neck injuries can be career ending injuries and while there is no way to guarantee the safety of our wrestlers when they are in battle, we try to do everything in our power to keep them safe. Take ring padding for instance: there really isn't an industry standard. Every company uses their own, many based on the price, not safety. As commissioner I want my people to have the best that we can offer so I did not order from the ring industry but instead looked at what collegiate, Olympic and others practice and compete on for guidance. If their people can get slammed on this over concrete then our people should be safer in the ring.
yes it costs more and is heavy as a beast to move but if it keeps our people safe then it is worth every dime.
Being a Vanguard means "leading the way in new developments or ideas" and we would not have it any other way.

Vanguard recently bought an 18 ft High Spots ring. Today was the day to paint it Vanguard colors. Thanks to Derrick and Commissioner Doc for making this happen.
