We are excited to officially announce the launch of a new online group for the event industry for focused on event safety and meteorology…. Forecasted!

This is NOT a podcast, it’s an open group, come and be ready to ask questions, share stories and join in the conversation version!

Each hour long conversation will be lead by Andrew Leavitt and an a industry co-host, everyone is welcome to join and this group is completely free, our goal is to foster conversations about event safety while learning about weather related risks and challenges all different types of vendors face onsite.

3/26/25 - Andrew Leavitt will be joined by Caitlin Fulton Kuchemba, Founder & Creative Director of Fulton Events, to discuss the art of managing client expectations when the forecast doesn’t align with plans and emotions run high.

4/23/25 - Andrew Leavitt will be joined by Sam Riseborough, Founder of Sam Rise Entertainment, who will share his experiences as an entertainment vendor, highlighting the challenges that both light and heavy rain can create onsite.

5/21/25 - Andrew Leavitt will be joined by Mile Villa, owner of Villa Visuals, to share his experiences capturing stunning visuals in unpredictable weather while traveling to breathtaking destinations around the globe with clients.

6/11/25 - Andrew Leavitt will be joined by Carly Katz-Hackman, of Pinch, to discuss how sustainable practices and seasonal menu planning can create unforgettable, environmentally conscious events.

I chose not to post yesterday and appreciate all the text checking in from those in the industry, that is how I found out about it in the morning when I woke up, not from the news but from concerned text from the wedding industry…. And there is something beautiful in that.

Acts of violence like this don’t make sense to me and never will… the victim were just celebrating the new year.

Most of us have given our entire life to creating spaces for people to celebrate, party and enjoy themselves… and maybe that is why this feels so awful.

I guess I just wanted to let all of you know that in my 15+ years of visiting, living in and being apart of the New Orleans community I’ve noticed that is the people that make up this city are different, there is more love, support and respect here then anywhere else in the world.

Those who are born here never understand why they would need to leave and those who move here and never imagine living anywhere else.

This city has overcome a lot and still found away to keep its people and culture… I’m just happy to call it home.
