A THANKSGIVING APPEAL TO THE TERRORS & PIRATES
It's no secret that I am a proud BHS alum & fan. It is also no secret that I am massively outnumbered by Terrors in my own house, so am therefore a GA fan as well. So it is as a fan of both programs that I speak to you today.
While the Pirate & Terror seasons are sadly over, there is still a Glynn County program still playing Friday, and there is an excellent chance that history will be made. Frederica Academy heads to Valdosta to take on long-time rivals Valwood Academy for a chance to play next week in the GIAA state championship game. QB/RB Jordan "The River" Triplett is 142 yards away from breaking Monte Williams' all-time career rushing record of 8,844 yards and 326 yards from breaking Daccus Turman's single season rushing record of 3,172 yards.
Will he break those records? That's yet to be seen, but Jordan is averaging 258 yards per game for the season, and has averaged 350 yards over the last three games. The odds would seem to be in his favor.
So here is my appeal; come to Valdosta this Friday and support the Knights. Shake off your turkey-induced tryptophan food coma and make the two hour trip to potentially watch a fellow Glynn Countian make history.
After that, it's Clean Old Fashioned Hate on Saturday, Jags vs. Texans on Sunday afternoon, and the Stambaugh Aviation Coaches Show at Porch SSI wrapping it all up Sunday night.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
