How A Local Group Helps Bring The Community Together!
Founded in 2004, The Hungry Housewives was created for moms to exchange homemade freezer dinners and chat over lunch. With a background of volunteering at the elementary school, we decided to fundraise for charities in our community so created The Hungry Housewives Events. From fashion shows to Bunco, we had a great time, supporting great causes, including the American Cancer Society and The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America.
As our kids got bigger and our time together grew smaller, a few of us started upcycling furniture and selling it just for fun ... but we missed our work giving back to the community. In 2012 we hosted our first Craft and Vendor Show, where we decided to have a BIG door prize and sell raffle tickets to support LOCAL causes.
In the past eight years, 100% of the raffle proceeds went to the following:
Jordan Binion Project- helping to educate and provide information to young adults about mental health
Merry on Main -bringing the town of Buckley together during the holidays
The Soup Ladies -serving food to first responders
Dylan Parkinson- aiding local lost or feral animals
Buckley Fire Department - providing bike helmets to kids in the area
The Mom and Me Mobile Medical Clinic -offering healthcare to anybody in need
Helping Dylan Takedown Cancer - a friend's son fighting cancer
Tourette Syndrome -to show our support to a fellow Housewife's son
My family (shown in the photo above) look forward to many more years of providing support for our community, and a fun place for you to shop! Make sure to keep an eye on our page to see when the next October show will be so you TOO can have a great time, supporting a great cause!
BTW- I will also be sharing on this page other events I will be at with my business H2O At Home and information about our more intimate house event mid December so make sure to “follow” us here, and on our original page “The Hungry Housewives” where we share food tips, recipes, and recalls.
