WALDEN OFFERS HELPING HAND TO SALIDA MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSIC
Walden Chamber Music Society is pleased to announce a Helping Hand Grant to support a Midde School Band Festival. This extra-curricular progam is provided by Katie Oglesby the music educator at Salida Middle School. The grant of $500 will help bring visiting band instructors/clinicians from Adams State University and the Colorado Music Education Association. The festival will draw students from Salida, Buena Vista and Florence. Walden's education outreach is committed to promoting and furthering music education in our local schools. This festival is an excellent opportunity for our young middle school musicians to share experiences with students from other schools as well as receiving instruction from some of the best music educators in the state. Congratulations to Salida Middle School.

Walden Chamber Music Society announces a change of artist for its “Curtis to Colorado” scholarship fundraiser concert. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Nathan Lee is unable to perform. In his place, we are presenting award-winning pianist Zhu Wang who is represented by Young Concert Artists. Zhu Wang appears by special arrangement with Curtis on Tour, the Nina van Maltzahn Global Touring Initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music.

Walden Silent Auction Item: Three-night stay in Lodo area of Denver!

This one-bedroom Condo is across the street from Union Station in Denver. The bedroom has a queen size bed, and there is also a queen size pull out couch in the living room. This unit will accommodate four people. There is a powder room off of the living room, and the bedroom has its own bath. Date of stay must be negotiated with the owner and occur within the calendar year. However, scheduling is flexible. On site parking is available except during August and September. There is easy access to the ball park, 16th Street Mall, the Denver Performing Arts Center, and the walking path along the Platte River.
