I was admiring the newly cut grass today and had a thought. What a pretty place to have a small garden wedding. It’s also an area shaded by two walnut trees that are over 100 years old.

I tend to do things in advance to make sure I am prepared for what may come my way. It doesn’t always work, but I try. With that being said, I am looking at my calendar and preparing for events at The Hill from now until the end of the year. I know it’s only the end of April, but I’m always thinking ahead and figuring out how to make things the best that I can.

Some of our events coming up include a birthday party, a graduation party, a bride getting ready in the farm house that has a church wedding/reception, two more weddings on the front porch of the farmhouse, bridal shower, baby shower, a rehearsal dinner and wedding party staying on the property, a wedding in front of the gazebo and a wedding in the Carriage House.

How may we help you? May is full, I have space available here and there this summer, I am getting full in the fall, but will work you in if at all possible.

Just FYI. I had someone book the Farm House for four nights this upcoming week through Airbnb. You can message me and I can rent directly to you. Once you book through Airbnb, I have to follow through with them for that particular stay.

Last night there was a couple’s shower held in the Carriage House. I do not decorate for parties, but I do sometimes change out items in the lounge area to fit the style of the event. The hostesses wanted a more masculine feel and a few subtle changes can help to achieve the look.

This is a bridal shower that was held in the Carriage House a couple of weeks ago. It’s so pretty and I love getting pictures from the hosts so I can share on my page.

The Carriage House is a simple and casual atmosphere with an antique/vintage vibe. The carriage house doors can open for an indoor/outdoor feel or they can be closed to take advantage of the climate controlled space.

When I have inquiries in Mathews Orchard Hill, I always want to clarify if the interest is in the Farm House, Carriage House, or both. Some know right away what they are looking for and some don’t know the difference in the two.

My family will probably tell you that if I am at home at night, you can almost always find me on the couch watching the Hallmark channel and I can’t say that they would be wrong. So, lately I have been thinking and really without planning to do so, I think this is what I have subconsciously patterned The Hill (what my family has always called this property), to be like, a Hallmark story with you putting your special touches on your event to make it your own.

So, as you go through the gate, drive up the actual hill, the first house you see is the Farm House. Upon entering the home, you will see that the furnishings are a mixture of antiques and vintage items with an eclectic feel. You will find four areas for overnight accommodations, a living room/dining area, kitchen, sitting room, and also an upstairs multipurpose room. The events held in this particular space so far since opening in November of 2023 have been - a wedding, brides/bridesmaids spending the night here and getting ready for weddings, baby showers, a rehearsal dinner on the back patio area and more events scheduled this spring.

It’s a beautiful day on The Hill. This time of the year always fools you because we have beautiful warm days and we get spring fever. I know that winter is not over yet, and the budding and blooming camellias are evidence of that. Our porch is looking a bit like spring as we get ready for our spring events on The Hill. Looking forward to our scheduled couples parties, bridal showers, wedding groups, and anything else that may come our way.
