Link in bio, join us for a gathering on Sunday December 8 to tend to grief and hold space for ourselves and learn about how we like to use rose to support us to move through emotions. You’ll go home with medicine you make and a seedling from our Rosa rugosa plants, now a decade old and wanting to be spread far and wide to help others grow this lovely medicine.

Yesterday we dug all our dahlia tubers and I can’t get over how amazing they were this year! Over last winter we lost all of our thousands of stored dahlias, probably to a freeze, and reached out to community for help. Strangers like and gave us tubers, friends like .pa and gave us extras, and random people would come up to me at markets and say, i heard you need tubers, here’s some, handing me a box of dahlias. It was such a sweet outpouring of love and support and abundance! We watched the dahlias grow all year and were surprised with every new bloom. I mean, those giant yellow dahlias, I would have never bought them, but I love them! The cycles now complete, the dahlias are dug and tucked away, and I’ll be spending more time keeping an eye on them, and asking my close butler peeps to stop by when the temps get low to help us keep the barn basement at a balmy 40-50 degrees. It takes a village, and I’m grateful for that connection that plants provide us with. Next year spring, if you need any extra tubers, we got you!

We are fundraising for our fall free clinic at Black Mesa, Dinetah, Navajo land in November. We’re gathering together for land support and for two glorious pop up clinic days filled with of free herbal consults, herb goody bags, body work and foot baths for elders and families. We are so excited and really need your help this year. So many of you have supported our clinic, the Stone Cabin Collective for years. We need more help than usual this time because it’s our first large gathering since Covid started. It would be great to blow this fundraising goal out of the water!

Our next two products that will be leaving our inventory is headache no more and sore muscle rub. We’ve spent a long time making these and though we love them (and you do too!) these formulas are complicated and we no longer grow all the herbs found in them. We have less than 20 of each of them, so order online or pick up one at the farmers market this weekend!

Cutting Root Farm

Cutting Root Farm and Apothecary is a dream I've been cultivating for the past 5 years. Throughout that time, three things have always been true.

  • A commitment to the revitalization and stewardship of the land in urban and rural settings. In Pennsylvania, the history of steel extraction and the current expansion of fracking for natural gas needs to be countered with vigorous investement in traditional farming practices.

  • Small scale herb growing, processing, and formuation ensuring high quality botanicals for the local community.

  • A thoughtful engagement with clients, matching beautiful, medicinal, culinary, native plants with their specific needs.
