7 years ago our friend Gary said “if you like making this stuff, you should sell it!”
And Candi Sabrowsky’s Homemade Goodness was created.

During that time all of you have made it what it is today.
You have bought because you wanted too, because we needed you too and because supporting local meant supporting a friend.

We cannot thank each and everyone of you enough for all you have done for us. It has meant so much to our family and many of you have become more than customers, you are our friends.

The last of the deliveries will be done tomorrow and the kitchen door will be closed.

Thank you guys for travelling this journey with me. Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to do what I loved.

Blaine and I wish each and every one of you a wonderful Christmas filled with laughter and love and a Happy New Year!

18 days until we close the kitchen permanently.

Thanks to Monica and girls for the use of their house and a fair amount of coughing from the numberous batches of vinegar and peppers - 67 jars of candies jalapeños made yesterday and all orders for them are now filled!

Will be filling cabbage roll orders next week and then in my happy place…..Christmas baking for our family!

For those patiently waiting for candied jalapenos, they should be wrapped up first week of December.

Cabbage rolls will be made after that in time for Christmas.

Well, it's time.
This girl is hanging up her apron!
With the price of produce, fuel and lack of time - It just is not feasable to continue.

I will be finishing up making what I have on hand and filling what has been previously ordered - however Dec 31st we will be closing.

I will not taking anymore orders but if have extras of anything will post if anything is available.

Next year we will be moving towards more of a market garden. Stay tuned for more info on that!

Just a quck update.

As many if you know I work full time and make goodies on the side. Between that, Grand babies, acreage life and life in general - my days off are full.

I will be scaling back what I make doing what time permits and product available. Hoping to stock up on canning and cabbage rolls once the weather is colder.

A friend has offered her house so I can make candied jalapenos which I will taking her up on. I am so appreciative that I will be able to make them with this offer ❤ thanks Monica!

This is a busy week off from my full time job to be in the kitchen. I have a very understanding boss who gives me time off when I need to get stuff done 😊

Being made:
Russian garlic dills
Mustard beans
Beet leaf rolls
And whatever else I have time/produce available to make!

Product availability with your name on a list. When your order is ready, pick up arrangements will be made.

Since our garden was a bust i am buying items as licalky as possible.
Produce has gone up but my prices have not. May consider delivery charges if need be though.

Well let’s try our hand at planting our own garlic shall we?
Just ordered 3 lbs of Russian garlic for fall planting.

In the meantime we do have peas starting, lots of potatoes, onions but the rest is so slow and late. I doubt anything will produce this year. I reseeded the beets so maybe they will pop up in time to make rolls. If not I will be out sourcing them from the city market garden.

This fall will be hauling in soil and getting some PH testing done. Fingers crossed things are better next year!
I am already browsing the Vesseys catalogue for seeds 🤣

Sadly it appears the newly cultivated garden is a bust. Not much is growing if it even came up at all 😢
The struggles of the hobby farmer is real 🤣

In fall we will haul in new soil and work the heck out of it and see what happens next year.

On the plus side, I did put my name in the list to get some cukes and beet leaves locally so at least we may have dills this year!

So happy to see things emerging from the ground! Peas, beet leaves, corn, potatoes and onions so far. We have been watering 7200 sq ft by hand with the pump and generator. Hubby loves me and I am grateful for his support 💞

Good morning!

Been a bit absent as we are planting the 7200 sq ft garden to ensure we will have fresh veggies to can this summer!

Also we are having a garage sale this weekend as we moved and are apparently clean and organized hoarders 🤣

Come on down to se us Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The faster the garage is cleaned out, the quicker I can get back in the kitchen to make goodies!
