Spero is committed to inspiring, educating and cultivating a new generation of young professional philanthropists to support and champion New England’s youth charities. Being few in number ourselves, the members of Spero are primarily concerned with supporting smaller organizations where our contribution is most needed. To that end, our first few years of operation raised valuable donations for Da
vid’s House, a youth hospice in Hanover, New Hampshire, Help for Abused Women and Children (HAWC), which provides numerous free services on the North Shore of Massachusetts, and Center for Grieving Children, a nonprofit administering support and counseling to children who have suffered a loss of a friend or family member. In 2009, Spero was able to donate $9,500, even during a recessionary time to YES Kids, a nonprofit providing skiing and outdoor activities for inner city youth. 2010 was a extraordinary year for Spero, celebrating our 5 year anniversary Spero was able to donate $20,000 to the Play Ball Foundation here in Boston.
