🎤 Meeting Legends on the Road 🎤

When you’re out here traveling with someone like , you never know who you’ll cross paths with. This time, it was . Most people know him from Shark Tank, but for me, he’s a piece of my childhood. FUBU wasn’t just a brand—it was a movement.

What stood out most wasn’t his status, though—it was how genuine and cool he was.

I bought this FUBU hat 5 years ago, and I wear it everywhere. Wearing it to this event led to a moment I’ll never forget—with one of the originators of the brand itself.

The takeaway? Stay true to yourself. Don’t follow the crowd. Being authentic will always open doors you didn’t even know existed. 🙌

The Power of Positive Energy: A Ripple Effect

Have you ever noticed how the energy we bring into a room can affect everyone around us? Whether it's uplifting someone who's feeling down or amplifying the excitement in a moment, our energy is powerful.

One of my favorite quotes on this is from Barbara Fredrickson, an author and psychologist known for her work on positive emotions: "Positivity doesn't just change the contents of your mind… It widens the span of possibilities that you see." – Barbara Fredrickson, Positivity.

When we choose positivity, we create a ripple effect, passing on energy that can transform not only ourselves but also everyone we come into contact with. It’s a reminder to be intentional with the energy we put out into the world, because you never know who it might uplift or inspire.

Had an interesting moment today while going through some B-roll footage. I noticed that for the entire length of a song, I wasn’t really "doing" anything with my mouse. My first instinct was to feel guilty for not being productive, but then I realized something. I was fully immersed in the music, lost in the vibe. The song? Work Hard, Play Hard by D-Smoke & SiR—how ironic, right?

Music is my passion, and those few minutes reminded me of why I love it so much. It’s not always about getting things done; sometimes, it’s about being in the moment and letting the music take you somewhere beyond the work.

So, a little reminder to myself and to you: it’s okay to pause and enjoy the vibe. Don’t be so hard on yourself—those moments matter just as much as the grind.

DJ Lessons: When Adversity Hits, Stay Cool Under Pressure

Picture this: It’s peak hour, the dance floor is packed, and the energy is electric. I’m in the middle of a set when suddenly—silence. My DJ software, Serato, crashes mid-song. No music, no sound, just a room full of people looking at me.

Instead of panicking, I grabbed the mic, stayed calm, and leaned into crowd work. "Who’s here celebrating a birthday tonight?" I asked. Five girls and two guys raised their hands, so I invited them up to the DJ booth while I started troubleshooting behind the scenes. As I chatted with the crowd and hyped up the birthday crew, I quickly rebooted Serato and adjusted my settings.

Turns out, the issue was a simple one—latency settings that my computer couldn’t handle anymore. One quick tweak, a reboot, and just like that, everything was back up and running! I counted down, dropped “Birthday Chick” by Trap Beckham for the ladies, followed by “Birthday Song” by 2 Chainz for the fellas. The energy came back even stronger than before.

The lesson? When you hit a roadblock, don’t lose your cool. Stay composed, engage with the moment, and keep a mental toolkit of solutions to smooth over any rough patches. It's not about avoiding problems; it’s about how you adapt when they show up. 💪
