Last year we filled up fast and had to cutoff participation. This year we are almost filled without even posting. If need be, we have a second transport vehicle ready. Here you are, our second iron man Sojourn without the iron man requirements. Sign up fast, we need a head count. Water should be high to make an enjoyable experience. Last year's remarks were all 5 stars. Who knows, you may even get a tour of the mill with a little history thrown in.

A canoe or kayak can be rented for $25 with advance registration

What to bring;
A waterproof bag with spare clothing should be brought along due to the cold water, even if the day is fairly warm.

Bring a Raincoat - good to have if it rains or gets windy. No ponchos, as they’re dangerous if you tip over.
Water and Snacks should be brought along.
Bring Sun Screen and Bug Repellant if needed.
Shuttle service will be provided to all paddlers so you can have access to your vehicle at Heishman’s Mill at the end of the day on the Creek.

Post Sojourn Refreshments: Pizza and soft drinks served at Heishman’s Mill take out

The Heishman's Mill Sojourn is a 15+ mile venture on the Conodoguinet Creek, Class 1 water, from the Newburg Gamelands launch to Heishman's Mill. A brief presentation of the Heishman's Mill History will precede the shuttle to the Newburg Gamelands put-in. Safety personnel will be introduced to the sojourners, and a Safety Briefing given, prior to the launching of water craft. The duration of the trip will be approximately 4 hours, Waterfowl species will be described to paddlers before starting the sojourn, and courtesy suggestions for accommodating fishermen will be presented. Food and refreshments will be provided at the end of the paddle, as well as briefing on the proposed Fish Habitat Structure and Boat launch and portage around the Mill Dam.

Vendors Wanted!

The 2024 Spring Craft Fair is again a two day event this year, Saturday April 20th and Sunday April 21st. You are able to apply to participate both days, or just one of the days. Preference will be given to those vendors that create all of their own items and who commit to both days.
