Thank you to all our members for your support of our quick expansion to start the Carmel International Film Festival. Now that we have a successful launch we are now refocusing to make sure “The Crowd” remains at the core of everything we do.
The Monterey Peninsula needed a festival again, we saw the opportunity and we took it. The soft launch last month was extremely successful. An academy award nominee and the producer of the biggest movie on the planet. Both locals. The Variety Edtitor’s movie is next. So many others are signing up. It’s a little overwhelming.
But, that in no way means the focus of “The Crowd” has changed. Film is just where we have our main sphere on influence and that is where we can effect the quickest good for the local art community.
Our strategy is to take local artists and honor them next the movie and tv industry to to reignite this area’s reputation as a world class art colony. Through that a lot of other good things will happen.
The event on June 1 will feature the work of Peninsula photographer Randy Tunnell as he explores photographing the Bohemian Artists of Big Sur and Carmel.
The locals get recognized amongst internationally recognized talent. The story goes out on social media and it’s a win win for everyone.
That is why your support and membership is so crucial.
We will continue to operate The Crowd events group on a regular monthly basis. Events will be shared with Carmel International Film Festival but guest speakers will be from all the arts.
