A beautiful evening for a gorgeous wedding yesterday at Rassawek! The first pic doesn't do it justice but the sky gave quite a show at sunset. Too busy working to capture a photo when it turned the most beautiful pink...

It's been a minute since posting! We're in the midst of the fall wedding season... in September, we catered at the very lovely new-to-us Malden Hill Venue in Aylett. A gorgeous day at this beautiful barn venue.
On the menu:
Hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour: Sweet Potato Country Ham Biscuits, Shrimp Spread, Charcuterie and Cheeses with fruit and pickled veggies
Buffet Dinner:
Cider braised Chicken Breast
Basmati and Quinoa Pilaf
Crab Mac and Cheese
Roasted Root Vegetables
Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Balsamic
Tomato, Watermelon & Feta Salad
Foccacia & Olive Oil

Beautiful Spring day for a wedding on Saturday at Rassawek. Didn't get photos of all the food, but here's a sampling.
On the menu:
Hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour: Charcuterie, Cheeses, Fruit, and sliced housemade baguette, Crab Crostinis, Housemade sliced sausage with grainy mustard, Crudites with Parmesan Dip
Buffet Dinner: Roast Beef carving station, Mediterranean Chicken with Tsatsiki, Roasted Asparagus, Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes with toppings, Bean Salad, grilled Portabella Mushrooms for vegetarians/vegans, freshly baked Rosemary Foccacia.
For this 4/20 wedding, they skipped the wedding cake and instead served "pot" brownies, lemon bars and almond cookies.
Congratulations and cheers to Alex & Pat! We were delighted and honored to be part of their special day 🥂

What a beautiful day to be a part of a small Wedding Expo at a favorite venue of ours, The Venue At Orchard View Farm in Cumberland. Andy made some Sweet Potato Biscuits with Country Ham, Pea & Bacon Salad, Rhubarb Brown Sugar Bars, and Lemon Hibiscus Iced Tea.

It was a beautiful Fall day for a wedding in Cumberland yesterday! The Venue At Orchard View Farm is a lovely venue in a rustic setting - beautiful spaces, fabulous barn, perfect for a indoor/outdoor combined ceremony and reception. We were honored to be part of this celebration and to provide a buffet dinner for Chris & Sarah and their guests. Congratulations to the happy couple! 🥂

We ventured a little farther afield this Saturday to cater a lovely wedding on a family farm near Culpeper. What a beautiful Fall day for a gorgeous wedding.... a Mariachi band, string quartet, the bride and entourage arriving via a trail from the woods bathed in beautiful dappled October light, joyful tears, signature cocktails, a bourbon tasting, a bonfire, a great DJ, and food...of course. That was our part. Congratulations Katherine & Manny ❤️

Tropical Storm Ophelia was not going to stop our lovely bride and groom from celebrating their marriage with friends and family at Westover yesterday! Definitely one to remember, but we all made it through the day and it was beautiful, and a privilege to be a part of such a special occasion ❤️

Chef Andy will be taking his new food trailer on it's maiden voyage to Cunningham Creek Winery this Saturday, 4:00 to 8:00.
Expect his signature Shrimp, Scallop & Crab Cakes, traditional Moules Frites (with Focaccia for sopping), Pulled Pork BBQ, and Chicken Wings (no political battle required).
The weather is looking perfect, and there's live music too!

We catered a post-funeral reception today. We happened to be available this weekend when we got a call earlier this week and we put together a lunch menu of:

Pulled Pork Sliders with Slaw
Chicken Salad
Potato Salad
Veggie Pasta Salad
Homemade chocolate chip cookies
Brownie bites
Sweet Tea and Lemonade

It's tough to estimate how many people will attend a funeral and then stay to eat but we advise to go a little higher than you think and then there's always food to take home and enjoy for a few days.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and, like the last two years, Chef Andy would love to deliver a special dinner to your home, along with an arrangement of flowers from M Henry Design, and you can also order some wine from Cunningham Creek Winery to accompany dinner! (Hint: you can order Andy's Rita Mae's Porch Wine)
We'll be delivering in most of Central VA - Cumberland, RVA and Petersburg and places in between... only 15 packages available!
