35mm film: A bit of what Iโ€™ve been up to latelyโ€ฆ

1. Our new and young yellow roses looking good and healthy. (What is the yellow strip on the bottom? I opened the back of the camera way too soon before I had the roll completely rolled up๐Ÿซฃ .) -1967 Minolta on Portra 400

4. My husband cutting a line around the first raised garden bed so we can dig bigger holesโ€ฆ then level them, โ€ฆthen fill them. It was a lot of work but finally done! -Pentax P&S on Portra 400

6. Landscaping. We moved into our home last August, tore out the old landscape and starting fresh (a ton of exhausting but well worth it work as well)! Lots of roses, azaleas and hydrangeas! Smells so amazing around here!

10. Winter after the great bad freeze. One of our pipes busted in the dishwasher and hereโ€™s an oh so lovely portrait of him fixing the wall he and my dad had to tear apart to get to it!

Iโ€™ve REALLY been enjoying our new home and spending so much time outdoors getting my hands dirty and making it our own. And of course making most beautiful memories. Recently Iโ€™ve made an intention to shoot more film outside of work. Due to the high price of film these days, I was very hesitant to use it for โ€œfunโ€ and family memories.

Iโ€™ve certainly changed my mind about the way Iโ€™m going to use film from now on. The way film captures these memories vs our cell phones is just too unbeatable. Iโ€™m sticking to classic film, ordering my prints and sticking them in old fashion photo albums and frames. Worth every. single. penny.

A few reception images captured on film during Alex and Johnโ€™s February brunch wedding ๐ŸŽž๏ธ
I normally donโ€™t have the guts to shoot medium format film (especially Fuji 400) during reception due to low light (film adores light) but I believe I will change that from now on. I normally wouldnโ€™t use Fuji 400h for such low lighting as it requires a bit more light to thrive but it was already loaded up from the shots we took outside prior so it was Fuji or nothing, I said what the heck, weโ€™ll see how they turn out and Iโ€™m pleasantly surprised how well they did! Itโ€™s a unique look ๐ŸŽž๏ธ
I also vow to learn how to meter my flash for my Contaxโ€ฆ after I get a specific flash for it first ๐Ÿซฃ of course โ˜บ๏ธ

Every time I visit NYC I fall more in love.

Shot taken from Central Park of The Plaza hotel on 35mm Ilford Delta 3200 ๐ŸŽž in 2022 for a fashion event trip. I was only there for a day and a half!! I definitely need more of it next time. ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™

If you plan to elope, I suggest looking into sailboats. Yes. Mmhmm. Definitely.
It was one of the most peaceful and beautiful experiences Iโ€™ve had as a photographer. The warm sun and gentle waves put us all at ease this gorgeous November day. Followed by a private dinner in a cozy little cottageโ€ฆ or followed by a family and friend filled dance party. Whatever floats your boat โ›ต๏ธ ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿฅ

Also, vow renewal? I think so. I think this is the perfect setting! Boom! It is decided: This will be my vow renewal in 4 years.
