TUESDAY'S TIP: DRESS SHOPPING
1. Wear a standard bra. Bras can make a huge difference in how a dress fits and looks. Many dresses have built-in bras so be prepared to take yours off. And avoid wearing a sports bra.
2. If you know what shoes you will wear, bring them. If you aren't sure, decide on a heel style you are comfortable with and bring a similar pair with you. Seeing how you look with your shoes will affect the length of the dress and can quickly change your opinion from a "no" to a "oh, yes!"
3. If you think you might wear your hair up, be sure to bring a clip or hair tie. This is especially helpful for brides trying on veils.
4. Be open to different styles and colors, especially if you haven't worn many dresses. Allow your dress consultant to help by adjusting straps, tightening, or making suggestions. You would be amazed at what we can do!
5. Know your budget and communicate that with your consultant.

TUESDAY'S TIP:

The largest expense of a wedding is usually the reception. The venue, food, alcohol, DJ, and decorations can easily cost $10,000 or more! If you creative and think outside of the norm, there are some very cost-effective ways to celebrate after the wedding. Here are a few tips to help you save some money on food for your special day:

*Love Uncle Joe's pulled pork? Can't get enough of Aunt Dee's mac and cheese? Ask them to cook for you! Purchase the food for them and have them prepare it and drop it off at the venue's kitchen to be kept warm until it's time to eat. Recruit a couple of co-workers or friends of your parents to get the food set up once the wedding is over and you can save yourself hundreds!
*Forget the dancing and head to the park or lake for a cookout! Reserve a shelter house and set up near a playground, bring some yard games, and you're all set for a family-friendly celebration.
*Find a local restaurant or pub that can accommodate your guests and reserve the space. On your invitations, invite them to join you for a celebration dinner and drinks. Be sure to include the price range they can expect and an RSVP so you have enough seats. Many restaurants will allow you to set up a cake table so you won't miss out on that traditional element. You may even be lucky enough to find an establishment with a DJ and dance floor!
