A week ago my grandpa went home to be with the Lord. It’s been a long emotional week, but reminiscing in his memories with family and knowing that he is no longer suffering has been comforting.

Looking back I am so thankful to have these precious photos from our wedding. My grandpa was so proud to have “won” the anniversary dance by being married to my grandma the longest. He passed just a few days after they hit their 63rd wedding anniversary, I am so thankful for such an amazing example of marriage to look towards.

My favorite wedding day shot to get - the dip after saying I do! I always make sure to have my couples practice this at the rehearsal and don’t worry if you are not skilled in dipping, a simple, twirl and kiss works great as well! It’s the perfect shot to capture all of your friends and family around you!

✨ Cake Cutting Trends ✨
Wedding cake cutting has been a wedding tradition for as long as I can remember, in recent years though the trends have been changing depending on the couple.

Here are the popular dessert choices I see the most:
✨ A traditional tiered wedding cake
✨ A small 2 tiered cake and cupcakes for guests
✨ An ice cream truck or cart (my personal favorite)
✨ A dessert bar with all different mini desserts

Choose what makes the most sense for you as a couple, if you don’t like cake, you can always have a photo of you sharing your ice cream for the first time! Details surrounding dessert tend to be forgotten, though, so here is my list of what not to forget!

✨ Who is providing plates, napkins, forks? Catering, baker, or couple?
✨ Real or plastic dessert plates? I always encourage my budget friendly couples to do plastic for dessert as they usually aren’t photographed as table settings are.
✨ Are you using a cake stand? Have you checked if the board the cake will be brought in on can fit?
✨ Are you using a cake topper, communicate with your planner if they or the baker will be placing it on the cake.
✨ Are you adding flowers to the cake? If so make sure you order from your florist and communicate with them and the baker on who will be placing the flowers, and that their arrival correlates.
✨ Don’t forget to purchase a cake server and knife. I always suggest that you purchase a set that you can use in you home for years later. Also sometimes the decorative ones at Michael’s are flimsy, but are perfect if you just want them for the photo!
✨ Ask your baker if they will be leaving a cake box, if not bring a container that leftovers can go into!

Hi I’m Paige! It’s been a while since I introduced myself so here’s a few things about me…

✨ My husband, Landen and I got married after we graduated from Liberty University in 2019, I fell in love with the wedding planning process and have been doing it ever since!

✨Up until a year ago I was a middle school art teacher, I resigned to focus on wedding planning and to raise my 8 month old daughter - I do still miss my students though!

✨ My favorite part of wedding planning is watching the bride and groom walk down the aisle - it’s the moment when all our hard work comes together, and yes I usually get teary eyed, I get so close to my couples I love seeing their happily-ever-after!

Happy Easter!

I love when my brides choose to use a cross as their arbor, it is almost my favorite! The cross doesn’t just symbolize Christ’s death, but more importantly His resurrection. Christ, who was sinless, died on the cross to save each one of us, so that we could one day join Him in Heaven!

✨ The Petal Toss ✨
After ceremony exits are my FAVORITE and here’s why:
1. Your photographer is going to be there, and you don’t have to pay for them to stay until the end of the night
2. It’s light outside so the photo quality turns out better
3. You don’t have to rush to say goodbyes before doing the grand exit
4. You don’t have to do a Faux exit to avoid paying extra for a photographer
5. It turns out GORGEOUS every time 😍
