I was blessed to be asked to officiate my daughter's wedding and became an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church. You need to obtain a wedding license at the local court house. The cost is $35 in Iowa at your local court house usually in the County Recorder's Office or you can apply online. There is a 3 day waiting period before the license is valid. There is a way to waive the 3-day wa
iting period. You will need to look up the process at the county website you reside in or are getting married in. This will need to be brought to the wedding rehearsal for me to fill out. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to take the license back to the court house to make your marriage legal. 2. I'm happy to meet with you to discuss your wedding in person. If that does not work, I have DUO and can facetime you at your convenience. You will need to decide what kind of message you'd like me to convey to your guest during the ceremony and what kind of wedding vows you'd like. I have a large selection to choose from. If you choose me to officiate your wedding, half of the fee ($150, $200 or $400) is due to save the date and is NON-REFUNDABLE. I will send you a link to my Paypal to pay the save the date fee or cash if you are local. I DO NOT TAKE CHECKS.
3. I'll send you via email a printed version of the wedding message and vows. You will read over and approve or request changes. When you are happy with the message and vows, the final version will be sent you via email.
4. If the save the date is requested months ahead of time, I will touch base with you a month before the wedding to make sure the wedding is still on. I will touch base again a week before the wedding to finalize where the wedding rehearsal and wedding will take place. On the day of the rehearsal, I'll see you there! Don't forget to bring the wedding license!
