Hello, and welcome! Erica Johnson, MA, LMFT here. As the owner and an clinician at , I thought I’d introduce myself so we can get to know each other a little better.
As a Denver native, I have lived most of my life in Colorado with the exception of the two years I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Indonesia. As a well-seasoned traveler and a trained professional actor, I have always held a deep curiosity for how cultures, communities, families, and intimate relationships mutually influence how people relate to themselves and their world.
I received my Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Regis University with a certification in Counseling Children and Adolescents. In my therapeutic vocation, I have supported children, adolescents, couples, families, and individuals find healing from processing/recovery, , and , , , management, reverse culture shock, and challenges in sexuality and sexual identity ( inclusive). My approach often draws from humanistic and systemic principles, theory, family systems theory, interventions, experiential therapy, , Internal Family Systems ( ) and Emotionally Focused Therapy ( )
At times life can leave many feeling helpless, unlovable, unwanted, and lonely. While Western culture tends to promote emotional independence and even isolation, the science of human connection proves to be discovering quite the opposite: humans are biologically wired to experience interdependent connection through with close others. From this science-based and heart-centered foundation, my first priority is to build a genuine connection that fosters openness, trust, and with you at your own pace - to provide a safe haven where you can begin to develop and around patterns that are no longer serving you while helping you uncover a more authentic story and way of engaging with your emotions, relationships, and especially yourself.
